Driving from Columbia??

Aug 28, 2013, 11:58 AM

Can anyone provide the quickest rout with game day traffic and approximate travel time? Many thanks,

Take I-26 to 385 like normal, then get off 385 in

Fountain Inn and follow the route outlined. It's never crowded as long as you don't tell anyone else. Lol.

Two lane roads, and 55 speed limit, but better than 123 or the interstates on game days.

I like that route, except for noon kickoffs when it backs up

Aug 28, 2013, 12:11 PM

I figured I'm give him the easiest route.

Plus, you can hit the Walmart in Central for beer and snacks

before you take 93 on in to Clemson.

Better go 13 MPH through Pelzer.***

There's something in these hills.

Yeah, when I have to go that way I usually try to stay below

Aug 28, 2013, 2:59 PM

35 through Pelzer and keep everything crossed. Lol. But that way is really not too bad unless you hit 85 (White Plains) when everyone is getting off of work and going back to Easley.

Ok, here's an actual reply

Aug 28, 2013, 12:10 PM

Take I-26 to 385, then take I-185 (the toll road) to I-85 towards Atlanta. Exit 19B is the Clemson Exit off of 85. 8 p.m. kickoff will spread out the traffic so should not be too bad unless you wait really late.

Thanks for the reply. Visiting my sister in Irmo for the weekend so I can go to the game. So amped to get to Clemson on Saturday!! Go Tigers!

8pm kickoff should not be a problem

Aug 28, 2013, 2:32 PM

For very heavy traffic noon or 1 games, I drive past the Clemson exit to the next exit, cut through the research park. Hang a LEFT on Cherry road and go out past the old Westpoint Stevens plant. Then I cut up and come out just north of the Y-Beach on the Seneca side. Traffic coming in from that direction is never bad.

But for this game I will probably take a right on Cherry Road.

Just leave now.... And don't look back***

Aug 28, 2013, 2:53 PM

I-26 to Spartanburg, then 385 to Greenville, then I-85

Aug 28, 2013, 2:56 PM

to Atlanta, take exit 19B, follow the freshly painted tiger paws.

The toll road is a rip off, doesn't save much time IMO. I only go through Pelzer if I know there's going to be a lot of traffic. Or if I want to get a hair cut at Betty Boop's Hair Salon.
