The pop ups on t net are getting out of control

Almost to the point of just not even bothering to come on here anymore. And that stinks, because this site has always been great. It just seems every time I log on, pop ups and redirects like crazy! I have an iPhone, any if you fellow iPhone users have the same problem?

TNet is not a non profit.

If you don't donate, you get ads. Happens everywhere on the internet.

I don't believe the OP meant regular ads

But I could be wrong. The redirects most likely do not get Tnet money. It was happening for awhile, then went away. Have seen it come back the last few days. It happens when one clicks on a link for a story or board post.
I just use the web version on my phone, never really thought about the app.

Plenty of free ad blockers for that.

Luckily, I subscribe to Norton for my pc virus protection and the cell phone ad blocker comes with it. Haven't had one of those redirect ads happen for me in years.

I abandoned the iphone app months ago. It totally sucked IMO, and was too frustrating to use. I won't bother to list all the things wrong with that app as I don't have enough years left on earth. Good luck trying to use that crap.

It's distressing to come to TigerNet and hearing my drive spin up because of all the ads and cookies being loaded.

Sounds like you need to look into Adblock Plus, uBlock or one of the alternatives that works best on an iPhone. They are browser addons and eliminate all of that kind of junk and even removes ads from Youtube vids etc.
I use uBlock because it uses the least system resources and is very efficient, but I do almost all of my internet browsing on a laptop. So I'm not sure which one is considered best for an iPhone.
Maybe this link will help you find a solution.
https://alternativeto.net/software/ublock-origin/?platform=iphone
I've never gotten a single popup or nag redirect or anything other than content while browsing Tnet.
Good luck.
PS: Just remembered that most site owners despise ad blocking software since it can hit their ad revenue pretty hard. So any admin or mod feel free to delete this post if it's breaking some kind of rule or something. Either way, if they are actual ads on Tnet and the person doesn't just have malware spawning popups, you guys might wanna consider changing them out with some more user-friendly ads.

Help Tnet, help yourself Win-win
Maybe a bonus could be an adfree version if you $x,but likely a big rewrite for Tnet.
Thanks for the input!

Yes. It’s gotten really bad the last few weeks. And also, I’ve had this 2 for $6 Gyros ad stuck at the bottom of the screen of my phone when I get on here for the last several weeks. Thanks Arby’s.

iPhone using safari on Tnet is a disaster. I now use chrome which works much better. A lot less ads. Safari will not let me go to full site, it keeps me on the mobile version which SUX!
