DON'T LEAVE EARLY...

Jan 8, 2018, 10:20 AM

Sorry guys, just see no benefit in anyone on the team to leave early. Yes, we have some very good players, but all would benefit from another year of training and experience.

Financially, you have to look at it long term. Sure, you can sign a quick deal as a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick (at best) for $4.5 mil for 4 years, or wait another year for a chance to double or triple that on a first round pick. Leaving early might put money in your pocket tomorrow, but you possibly just pissed away $12 million in the process. Let that sink in for a minute.

Get your degree! Get another year to grow mentally and physically! The NFL won't go anywhere, it'll be there for you next year. If you think you're good enough for the NFL, and you probably are, imagine how much your stock should go up if you come back and ball out your last year?

Hope you all stay another year, but I doubt you will. Good luck in whatever your decision is, I just hope it's the right one for your future!

"IDIOT POSTER OF THE MONTH SO FAR...GWP-- You have won IPM Award for your failure to completely comprehend a clear post & then choose to attack someone who points out your ignorance. If they ones that have left already can get 2nd or 3rd rd,

I think they should go. I think it's unlikely. $4 million is a ton of money if managed wisely.

Keep in mind tho that had Tajh came out too late

Lost his positioning in the draft. So he lost money. So comIng back doesn’t always work out.

Excellent point for QBs. Go when the getting is good.

You are making a lot of assumptions on Tajh...

You can find examples that support both sides. Derrick Hamilton is one that strikes me as one where the player should have come back. He left early and did get drafted in the 3rd round. Unfortunately he got hurt before ever getting to a second NFL contract. He was a first round talent, but needed a little more development. Martavis Bryant did the same thing and has been fortunate to land with Steelers. Hopefully he gets to a 2nd contract. Nuk left early and got drafted in the 1st round which has been awesome. Gave us three great years of entertainment as a Tiger and continues to do so as a pro.

There is risk either way. Ultimately the players take the risk. Personally I always wish the best for them AND that they are wise enough to weigh all the risks appropriately. And that luck is on their side!
