SC State coach says Tigers could have "murderous mindset" after loss to Georgia

South Carolina State head coach Buddy Pough wishes, at least for his team’s sake, that Clemson had beaten Georgia last weekend so his squad wouldn’t have to face a mad and "murderous" bunch of Tigers. Full Story »

Well bless their coach, sounds like he has a great attitude. He's preparing his team for a probable beat down but being sure that they take advantage of this special opportunity. A big time opponent is a special opportunity for them and their school sure needs the extra funding that this televised game will bring for them.

Maybe we need to sweeten the payout a bit for this game.

Don't worry Buddy .Dabo is too much of a class act to run up the score.
He will pull the first string at the end of the 3rd quarter and even give his defense a rest.
In fact I expect to see STATE put up 7 points, which is more than the other Bulldog team did.

True, we should only score 56 against 'em.

THIS is why we play an in-state FCS school every year.

In 2016, they shortened the game due to its noncompetetiveness, in which Clemson won 59-0.

In the shortened game, Jr linebacker Darius Leonard had 19 tackles against the Tigers ( on 78 plays). Having played HS at Lakeview in Dillon County, he played against numerousTiger players while in high school but was not rated by any scouting service before college. Darius used his performance in the spotlight vs Clemson to earn a 2nd round draft selection by the Colts.

However, that draft selection alone didn't make him successful; the media labeled him as the "worst pick of the draft" in 2018. So he still had to prove he belonged in the NFL, so he used that label to motivate himself to become a star and the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Today he is the NFL's highest paid inside linebacker, and it wouldn't have happened had Clemson not hosted an overwhelmed SC St squad.

At best, this game is AAAAAA high school seniors vs 8th graders. Hopefully, no one gets hurt on either squad.
