2021 was a rough year offensively under TE and a lot of blame was pointed towards DJ, rightfully so, but the play calling, for the most part, was very similar in 2022 aside from our lack of commitment to the run at times. We improved some and it had to do with DJ's improvements. Streeter only getting one year at the helm, to me, points to more than just questionable play calling and miscues. Makes me think Streeter was melting down in a way that lost all of Dabo's confidence. Idk, maybe I am just so used to Dabo set in his ways, but, to me, there is more to why he was let go than what we saw on the field in 2022.
Sure does make me think about all the times Dabo stood DJ up as the team leader when a lot of people were scratching their heads.
NGL, I hate we lost one of ours and a good man at that, but I trust it was necessary. Welcome Riley and best of luck Brandon!

out to be.........he was "easy" low hanging fruit to blame b/c it deflected from having to blame coaching and other talent deficiencies.
was DJ AN issue?......yes, but far from the biggest.
Scheme/playcalling was atrocious QB development was horrendous WR talent and development is in rough shape.
2 of the above issues were "fixed" today..........now Dabo moves on to the next "checklist item" of issues...........not in the clear yet but today was a massive step in the right direction.

Now if jeff would come back as WR coach, we could get back to being WR U....

DJ was limited... correctable limitations but he was limited. Now the question is did Streeter and staff coach him up and he did not make the adjustments or they did not coach him up?
Play calls were a big issue... the entire offensive scheme was one dimensional.

I remember watching Bama with Sark running great schemes to get their stud WRs open. While we depended on a lot of long outs and 50/50 balls. Was frustrating to watch then, before the last 2 seasons happened. If was long past time for a fresh mind.

I agree on all counts but to be totally honest I'm glad some fresh blood is entering the program. Riley had a pretty hot offense up until the Georgia buzzsaw too. We all know that game was more about physical talent rather than scheme though so hopefully he can put a deeper roster to good use here.

Hey my friend, it's going to be OK, Dabo hired us a real OC with this hire, and he comes from a pretty good coaching line as in Lincoln Riley!!!

I don't know who Brandon is but I expect our new OC hopes the recruits have some much needed speed. As Dabo said, "we got who we got" so hopefully now we have more options.

Streeter is the scapegoat for being hired for a position he was not qualified for. Yes he didn’t do well.
Here’s a thought….. he was never supposed to be in that job in the first place

We thank Streeter for the work you did at Clemson. Now, it's time to move on to the new OC. Go Tigers.

In other words, no matter what Dabo does, he’s on double secret probation with BSD - and we care why? Another dim bulb NFL coach in training, right here on Tnet…

thing that has happened to Clemson football.
But he needs to be called out on bonehead decisions.
He was reminded that Best Is the Standard applies to him as well.

Did you see his post game pressers after the last 2 losses?

I was embarrassed for him...I couldn't believe some of the things that came out of his mouth...Clearly he was clueless...Nice guy, but completely clueless

Was Wes any less clueless? Wes was still talking about correcting "technique" .... after a full 12 game season, a conference championship, and a bowl game.
Is Wes next? Is Wes on the hot seat?

in themselves under extreme duress, and I think Brandon began questioning his credibility in his role.
He's a good man, a Clemson brother, and I appreciate his contributions. No doubt he will be needed elsewhere, and I hope he thrives.

he had nothing to hold on to. Tough feeling, but he will survive. He's the gutsiest QB I've ever seen take every shot a team had to give and still get back up.
I'll remember him for that.

I suspect one of the big reasons might be problems on the recruiting trail. Clemson’s offense the past two years has been pathetic. It’s easy to give Streeter a pass and blame everything on DJ, but I suspect we are losing out on top Offensive prospects and Dabo felt he needed to make a change to bring excitement and confidence back to Clemson’s offense to help with recruiting,

I'm convinced it was the right call by Dabo, but not because we only won 11 games or were only slighly better than 2021. I think Streeter took the seat and quickly made it clear to Dabo he wasn't ready in one way or multiple. Whether staff issues, losing confidence of the players, recruiting, organization, or a combination of the above. If it wasn't significant, I think he'd still be on staff.
