I'm confused does "clemsoning" mean losing now?

I though it was losing to duke etc that you were supposed to blow out not lose to a top 5 team that was favored to win.

Apparently it means losing any game by any number of points. When Cemson loses, to anybody, by any score, we Clemsoned. So unless we win the NC, which doesn't look likely in the near future, we can look forward to Clemsoning at least once a year in the near future.

Clemson into is losing in an embarrassing fashion once getting the nation to take notice of the team. Whether that be losing to a garbage team after a big win, or losing by 5 TDs to a good team in which a fight was expected. Both are embarrassing and both are Clemsoning.

Exactly.
I was hoping Clemson football would go undefeated and win their second national championship.
However, one loss (to that FSU team) still makes for a very good season IMO. The football program is in a much better place then they were, but obviously (after tonight) there is still more work to do.
I'm disappointed for the alumni, fans, seniors & coaches, but I hope the younger players will learn from this loss and re-focus on building Clemson into a team that can compete with teams like the FSU they played tonight.

It's not about the loss. If We play a good, tough game and lose by 10 to a top 5 team nobody would be calling it Clemsoning. We were also a top 5 team so it is reasonable to expect a close game not a 51-14 beating.
Clemsoning is essentially getting people to buy into the idea that the program has turned the corner and then pulling the rug out from under us.
