Texas paid 50k to all OL recruits in last recruiting class and was said to more than double it this year, and we still just pulled in 2 of the top targets in Texas. ??
I was curious about Ian Reed's commitment, since he had an offer from Texas, but he said his interest wasn't money - it was everything that Clemson represented for his future development.
I think there are a lot more young folks interested in what they can become in life than I thought before seing this '23 class develop.
Sewell's coach spoke highly of Sewell's family and his quality as a person, so he's likely in the mold of Reed and Klubnik.
I suspect there's a lot of good football players in Texas that have been brought up the same way.
Klubnik paved the way and these 2 OLs knew his talent, so Klubnik's choice probably had some impact on them and they knew he was a winner.
This could be the start of a real pot of honey for Clemson football..... particularly if we can send a couple of them to the NFL and gain a reputation for developing OLs.
