First of all, his so called girlfriend is black.
Secondly, after listening to the tape recording, it was clear to me that Donald Sterling is very insecure in his sexuality. Probably has a hard time getting it up. So of course he's going to be angry when his girlfriend poses with Magic Johnson. No way he could compete with Magic.
Third, Sterling is so old, I'm sure he's going a little senile.
So in conclusion, Donald Sterling is just like every other over-the-hill dude who is dating someone way too hot and too young for him. He's insecure. That's it.

He pays his team all that money because they make him huge profits, not because he loves minorities.

This wasn't the case of an off-color racial joke, or someone kidding around.
If the tape is him, I'm not sure how you could listen to it and think that it is indicative of just some slight racial undertones.

I would pay people I hate if they made me a ton of money. That would be my reason for paying them. Everything else you said was true AND he is a racist. My dad was born in Israel from two holocaust survivors, and my mom comes from a line of Irish immigrants = no white guilt, except for maybe ruining the economy

Racism aside, maybe he is prejudice...
Many people are saying he shouldn't be able to own a NBA team bc of it, and he should be forced to sell, or hand over to family.
This is America, he had a private conversation with his girlfriend. he shouldn't have his business forcefully taken away for his private personal views.
Let's just say I told a friend I hate Germans and Baptist and same thing happened w a recording. Should my business be forcefully taken away?
Sure the Germans and Baptist would probably boycott it, just like blacks could boycott the clippers.
