Nothing ever works. I can't fix something easy.

My water pressure regulator was leaking from the nut that controls the pressure. I tried tightening it down but no work.

Next, I ordered the valve from amazon with plans to replace the insides of valve.

At lunch today, I replaced the guts and it still leaks from the nut (just like before).

I called a plumber friend and he suggest replace the whole thing, so I reassemble and replace the whole thing. So now it leaks just like before or worse. Dad is coming over to try and fix it since I am incapable.

Inside was filthy by the way as seen in pic 2

FR SRS - and I can't believe I'm saying this but FBC is right. even if it says no tape, use tape. It's way cheaper than any alternatives which I have no advice on except maybe you overtightened it with you massive manly strength?

That PRV is probably $60.

Why even rebuild it? Just replace it.

Also, set it to 80 psi (max). Plumber would set it to 60 psi. All your fixtures are rated for 80 so turn that ##### up.

I did buy the valve not a kit...It just seemed easier
