Well, we extended Bowden's contract and then asked him to leave. The same can be said for Muschamp. Maybe they are copying what other schools do.

Since you feel the need to drag CBB into every single topic: NCSU has a better history in football than Clemson has in Basketball. They also have better facilities and had them for a longer period of time.

Chuck The Chest upgraded all their football facilities 10 years ago. Our bball facility has been in place two+ years.

Are you basing that on their zero national championships, never having won the division, zero AP top 10 finishes, or no conference championships since 1979? Are you giving them credit for ACC championships in years the ACC was so bad the champion didn’t crack the Top 25?

Not one since 1979. And not one that resulted in a top 10 ranking and only a couple that resulted in a top 25 ranking. What year would an ACC basketball championship meant finishing 19th or 20th in the AP rankings? You’re also giving the credit for Southern Conference and The stature of the programs are pretty similar if anything. Ironically, you are nullifying another argument I’ve seen you use. Supposedly Clemson isn’t good because we haven’t been good and didn’t invest in basketball 50+ years ago. Yet 50+ years ago NC State were reasonably competitive relative to the ACC and they have sucked eggs ever since. So past is not prologue.

How many conference championships does our bball program own including SoCon and going all the way back 111 years?

Also, we could maybe compare the two sports winning respective winning percentages since that would be a pretty good indicator of their competitiveness. NC State has won 62% of their basketball games against Clemson. Clemson has won 67% of their football games against NC State.

Entering his 9th season, Doeren has broken their 7th year "curse". Sure he went 4-8 in his 7th year, and looked to keep the rend as they fire Obrien, and OCain for .500 season and only Amato did worse ar 3-9 but he did not have that 12 game, Amato did win two conference games including two over ranked BC and FSU at the time. NC State previous four coaches only lasted 6 or 7 seasons and it looks like they are betting on Doeren to save them.

Doeren ranks all dead last in ACC winning percentages among recent State coaches at 0.424 as all four previous coaches were about 0.450 overall +/- 0.009 or so. OBrien 0.451, Amato .0446, OCain 0.464, and Sheridan 0.620.

hope he gets a lifetime contract.***

Doeren deserves a little credit. He has had to work with mostly 2** and 3*** recruits. Once in awhile he's been able to snag a 4**** recruit. I believe he would do quite well in one of the lower division schools.
