We are continuing to pay dabo for what he did 4 years ago….and he’s happy cashing each and every one of those huge checks. He is the 2nd highest paid coach in America…so do you really feel like we are getting our moneys worth with the product he is putting on the field?

Ok fire him. He has a contract through 2031 so pay him his $60 million buyout this year. BTW, it's still $60 million in 2025. Well just wait until 2026 and it drops to $57 million. What has he done to be fired for cause? Nothing so he can get it all.

The people on this board have zero grasp of how the current coaches salaries are set.
Compared to:
Lincoln Riley getting 11 M
Sark making 10.3
Deboer making 10
Mark Stoops even makes 9M
Billy Napier is almost making 8M
He makes 1.5 million less than Kirby

This does not even directly account for Mel Tucker and Jimbo causing coaches salaries to inflate.
This fan base has an inflated view of Clemson. Our comp is not Bama it is Auburn. Except we don’t have a handful of redneck billionaires ready to pony up hundreds of millions of dollars to do whatever it takes.

And of those top salaries, he and Smart are the only 2 active coaches to win a CFP Championship and both have won 2.

He took Clemson down a path few coaches could have taken and succeeded ... and he brought the skills and the fire to do it.
He's now a multi-millionaire trying his best to coach a team among many commitments while aimultaneously navigating the eye of the needle. What a life. What a high level of coaching success! What do you do for an encore? Do it again? Hopefully at Clemson.

His actual value to the Clemson community and the facilities that match any in the Country...he's worth double...pay him commish only. Base it on the economic success of the program each year, and then look at the economic impact to the community....he'd take it tomorrow.

I am not bashing our coach. I just asked the question do you feel like we are getting a good ROI on the $11.5 we pay dabo? Some things to think about:
Is the program heading up or down over the last 4 years?
Is dabo using all the tools available to him to be successful, like all the other big time schools are?
Are you good with 9-4 seasons?
Were you ok watching us getting embarrassed on national TV by UGA?

It's all irrelevant. The contract was $115 million and runs through 2031. Clemson could go 4-8 and no change would be made. BOT is not paying a huge buyout to chase wins on the football field. It was great to win the 2 Natty's. He's getting paid based on past performance. At this point, there are other coaches that could do as well for the 11.5 million per year. But that ship sailed when someone signed a 10 year deal. So we now have a borderline top 25 team with one of the highest paid staffs in the country. To quote Lord Dabo, "we got who we got" which is mostly former players that would never challenge any decisions. Best not to worry about it. A new era will start in 2032 which will bring changes and new topics to discuss.
