Kiwi, I can't let this one go. I need a 'splainer.

As in, can you please explain to me your thought process in typing this: "Imagine a USA that produces its own baby formula..."

For reference, the US currently produces 98% of the baby formula it uses domestically.

Did you not know this before typing it? Did you know it, but felt like it struck a great tone in the post? I am seriously in awe.

It "used" to produce 98%. Now we don't, and we are flying in imports. Why?

The government and Biden administration failed the American people by not producing enough formula.

Am I doing this right?

Here is s as good article on the govt’s role in the industry, and how they typically make things worse.

The article you posted says 98% of US supply

May 24, 2022, 8:29 PM

Is produced domestically ...

Re: The article you posted says 98% of US supply

Do you think 98% of the raw materials are domestic? “Assembly” is only part of the equation.

And as I stated previously, 98% is a “used to be” statistic that will most likely never be achieved again. Now when Ireland gets invaded you guys will be all #thequeensformulashortage.

So what you're saying is that when you typed

May 24, 2022, 9:59 PM

"Imagine a USA that produces its own baby formula..." you actually had no idea what you were talking about?

I'm sorry man, but that is really one of the dumbest things

May 24, 2022, 10:02 PM

I've read on here. Even for you guys that so often just spout out things without really knowing what you're talking about, it takes the cake.

Even if you were being honest in your equivocation (you're not. you know it. I know it. we all know it.), it still is completely stupid given that the concentration of formula production domestically is what made the supply chain so fragile in the first place.

There simply isn't a good way for you to wiggle out of this one.

So please. Just admit that you were thoughtless waxing poetic, didn't really mean what you said, and we can let it go.

Hey buddy. Did you find this data yet?

Sounds interesting. I haven't seen it made before so it would be good to have that.
