Do some running backs prefer an offense like UGA

Jun 28, 2017, 12:40 PM

Where the QB is not too good? They get more touches. Also seem to get injured more.

Obviously just look at all the 5 star running backs they signed over the past few years.

And all of those championships that those RB's have brought to Athens. It's astounding.

I think some want the touches and don't care for blocking

in pass protection.

It's a legitimate gripe in our offense.

But it's short sighted....NFL backs are expected to block in pass protection no matter how good they are.

I would rather have a 3* back with potential that hits people while blocking over a 5* prima donna that can't or won't block.

In my mind one's team player and the other is a "me" player.

I'd rather have a 5* that hits people and blocks than a 3*

that does the same, but that's just me.

White isnt a prima donna, dude can flat out ball and Zamir didnt come to Clemson bc hes afraid to "hit someone" or block in pass pro. Jesus some ppl will just make #### up and claim its a fact.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, Typical pro style, run first mentality

Jun 28, 2017, 2:02 PM

most of the running plays occur near or between the tackles. Usually have a lead blocker etc.

RBs that prefer to work in space and be a receiver would naturally like our offense better.

We would figure out how to make a RB like White work in our offensive scheme, just the same as UGA would have figured out a way to make Feaster/Spiller work in theirs.

Georgia backs can get up to 40 carries a game. They are the centerpiece of the offense. They are stuck in their ways like the NFL.

Did you see the Dawg offense the last half of the 2016 season ?

Nobody would prefer that .
Nobody .
Vanderbilt just scored again .

Historically, UGA has good quarter backs. They have one now. UGA has an offense that showcases a back perfectly for the NFL. Of course, big name backs will give them a serious look.

Well they " had " an offense under Mark Richt that showcased great running back use .
The jury is still sequestered as to if Kirby will do similar things ..or Bobo or whoever is running tjeir offense these days .

Boob Boob has been the Co St head coach the past 3 yrs. He still recruits Ga. Gets nothing but sloppy leftovers

Definitely not Bobo. Considering Smart got a NFL o.c. I would bet he continues to use pro set type offense.

UGA has a 5* QB if they can get him playing like a 5* with Zamir and that freshman WR they could take the east, not that the east is hard just think UGA is RBU not sure why ppl are surprised he went to UGA when its been reported he was a UGA lean for about a year now.
