"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton
I rarely come here (these last couple days was the first or maybe second time I've ventured over here in months). And I see fans of other teams on UGA boards, and it doesn't bother me, or most other UGA posters apparently that much either. I kinda get a kick out of the trash talk (so long as it's accurate). But looking back through this board, you guys start threads about UGA all the time - more than any other team except USC. So when you say "go back to your own board", it reminds me of a bunch of middle school girls who go to the bathroom together so they can talk about the boys behind their back. It's the trash-talk posts that get the most responses - from both sides.
I pop in mostly to get the breaking news on anything Paul Finebaum said, a recruit who chose UGA, or to discover the latest global conspiracy against Clemson. Occasionally you'll encounter someone who wants to talk football. More times than not though, the exchange goes something like this:
TNETer: Kirby is a cheat. Dawg: How do you know? TNETer: Is obvious. Dawg: If it's obvious, provide one example. TNEter: Why are you here?
TNETer: Kirby can't win big games. He chokes every time. Saban owns him. Dawg: He won a Rose Bowl, an SEC title, and just beat Saban for a National Title. TNETer: Why are you here?
TNETer: Kirby can't develop talent. Dawg: Points out the nunber of planers Kirby has put in the NFL. TNETer: Why are you here?
TNETer: Georiga got lucky on the pick 6. Otherwise, we win. Dawg: Kirby ran out the clock instead of scoring at the end of the game. It was obvious to anyone who actually watched the game. TNETer: Why are you here?
It's becoming more common to see "why are you here" replaced with a point about UGA's 2019 loss to SC, which, let's be honest, is pathetic on a host of levels. It usually gets translated something like, "UGA always loses to SC."
inability to distinguish satire from the rest. We talk plenty of football and we do a lot of clowning around. We just don’t talk it with you seriously or your pals, because you’re not genuine, witty, complementary or even very savvy about anything relevant discussed. Satire works best for the educated. That’s probably why you get so upset when we disparage IGA.
No, I can see the appeal of them coming over here though. They probably get tired of seeing the jail blotters and news networks constantly talking about former players gunning down other players, etc., so they come over to a board that represents the exemplary status of a program that doesn't breed criminals.
