DJ's Performance Last Night

After watching his first game as a Tiger commit, I have a few thoughts.
1. He has elite ability. A few throws just looked otherworldly. Trevor Lawrence level stuff.
2. He had an off night. Sometimes you are just off a bit, and he looked rusty a lot last night.
3. He needs a lot of polish. The skills and intangibles are easy to see, but he was not polished in several areas. He has a rare gift of an arm, but needs to learn that a fastball is not always the right ball. He had several times that he was lazy with his footwork which caused inaccurate throws.
For these reasons, I think that he will need time to hone his immense potential into a deadly skill on the collegiate level. Learning from Trevor and our coaches for a year or two should do the trick, and then....look out College football!

He started the night 2 for 13. He finished throwing for over 300 yards and a couple tds. He had an outstanding run on a 3rd and 22, where he lowered his shoulder and ran over a defender to pick up the first down. For his first game of the year against an elite high school team, he had a really good game.

Kid is unbelievably talented. And what's scary is he has a very high ceiling. Can't wait to see what he does in orange and purple

Well, my thoughts are Chase will have something to say on the QB issue if he does not transfer. Also watching the spring game TP is gonna be kinda special too, so let us not forget there will be a battle on just who replaces TL.

What's encouraging is it was the first game of the season and DJ started slow. He was completely out of whack and off rhythm.
Once he got it going in the 2nd quarter, he showed a very high ceiling. I hope more of his games are available to watch (at least online).
