DJ is progressing and getting better???

Nov 14, 2021, 7:40 AM

Dude was 21 for 44 against UCONN. Maybe their pass defense is a lot better than the record shows. Half the receivers that are out are due to bad balls thrown that opened up receiver or RB to get crushed. Guys never know if the pass is going to hit them in stride and on the face mask or 15 feet over or in front of them. I think it still goes back to bringing in a “top pro pocket passer to a team that has run spread for 10 plus years. I really don’t put the blame on DJ, if he was at UGA, he’d probably be great. But he’s in a spread system.

DJ was noticeably playing injured.

DJ was progressing all the way up until this game so I’m not going to form too much of an opinion based on what I saw yesterday.

It actually makes me laugh that so many

were expecting a crisp performance yesterday. We're coming off weeks of down to the wire games playing a team the coaches were so confident of beating they held out numerous guys who could have played.

Not exactly the scenario for an emotionally or mentally engaged performance

He progressed in the two previous games before UConn. Saying DJ progressed in all the games leafing up to yesterday is an extreme exaggeration.

Really! If he were at UGA, Kirby would have benched him after the pick six against Clemson! But he also had two other back-ups ,one who is currently undefeated.

I am trying to give DJ a pass on yesterday’s performance since he was “injured” and the RPO and the quarterback run were not even on the table. My problem is will DJ magically heal in 6 days and be ready to run the offense including RPO and quarterback keepers so we can have a chance against Wake. Tell me this possibility is absurd? Taisun P. is not hurt and as soon as he scored yesterday DJ was the first one in the end zone congratulating him and telling him “not to create a QB controversy by playing too good so TP decides to have an injured shoulder. With NIL money I bet DJ could convince TP to take a dive. I know that kind of thinking is way too cynical and I apologize in advance before I get bashed.

DJ is in the wrong system. That part I do know. He will never be good at Clemson in our system. That said, could he be good in any system? Maybe. I really just think he doesn't have it mentally though. JMO

How can you tell when he was handing off to scout team players and throwing to scout team players because of more injuries?

Did you see how off his passes were to wide open guys 7 yards past the line of scrimmage? He is just bad from what are used to if course.
