This Is Just Too Good To Not Read. Eric Is On A Roll!

Feb 12, 2014, 12:29 PM

Editor Of Red State
Eric Erikson
Feb. 12, 2014

You guys in the press who are reading this right now can be such shameless ######. I generally try to hold to the standard these days that if I wouldn’t be outraged by George Chimpy McBushitler Halliburton and Darth Cheney doing something, I shouldn’t be outraged by President Obama. And if I’d be outraged by Bush, I should be outraged by Obama.

But you journalists have such erections for everything Barack Obama does, you can’t even summon outrage to report fairly on the latest b.s. from the administration over Obamacare. Is it any wonder so many people have stopped trusting you?

Under the latest round of Obamacare delays for companies of 50 to 99 employees, companies who embrace the delay can layoff, restructure, and hire part time workers, but only if they swear to the IRS they are not doing so because of Obamacare. This comes on the heels of a much touted CBO report that finds only anecdotal evidence of a shift to part-time work now, but expects a shift in labor among small businesses in 2015.

If George W. Bush had done that, Dan Rather would be marching on the White House with a pitch fork. Tom Browkaw would be calling for his head on a platter. Andrea Mitchell of that anti-Bush site would be calling for his impeachment. CNN would be interviewing Cindy Sheehan about the boundaries crossed by George and ####. And — spare me the rebuttals — you know #### well the story wouldn’t be done in passing, but would be wall to wall coverage with your legal analysts, economists, and sour faced anchors all tut-tutting for several days.

“On what legal authority?” you guys would ponder. “Won’t businesses just turn to lying,” you’d speculate. You know you would. You guys soiled your shorts with giddy excitement over the US Attorney scandal when the President could hire and fire them at will. Heck, back in the day you guys took seriously claims that George H. W. Bush hopped aboard an SR-71 Blackbird and flew to Spain to negotiate with the Iranians and the mere claim was worthy of a congressional investigation.

Yes. You. Did.

But now, you’d rather have cocktails (pun absolutely intended for a good portion of you “journalists”) with the President, jealously size up the competition in the First Lady, and wish you too could be a mistress when you see France’s President and whoever the gal of the week is for him.

If this was George Bush telling businesses they cannot take advantage of an arguable unconstitutional restricting of law done without Congress’s consent unless the businesses swore oaths that they’d lie if they need to downsize due to Obamacare costs, the media would start talking about impeaching the President in non-ironic ways.

But with President Obama, half of MSNBC still wants to have his baby and the women over there just want to be his mistress. Hell, France’s President has one.

No, we don’t need to impeach the President, but God help me I’d at least think the media might want to pretend to hold him accountable. It really is disgraceful.

Your generation voted Ronald Reagan into office…..

Feb 13, 2014, 4:34 AM

He raised government spending to unprecedented levels, which started to bankrupt this country back in the 80's. Reagan's policies have been continued by both Republican and Democratic Presidents. And yes that includes President Obama, who you claim is a socialist, yet President Obama has carried on President George W. Bush's foreign policy and the economic policies of Ronald Reagan ( your generation's hero).

I was only 1 year old when Reagan was voted President. Sorry, but one year olds can't vote. It was your generation who voted Ronald Reagan in not mine. It was your generation who voted for politicians who believed in out of control spending.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cool story bro...tell me again how it's other presidents

Feb 13, 2014, 5:13 AM [ in reply to Yeah, whatever. Just keep collecting your medicare and... ]

fault when in the less-than-three-years of Obama being in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion--more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined.

I'm sure it's somehow Bush's fault.

BTW...I'm paying into the SS System in large numbers and getting ###### by your party who won't let me take MY OWN money and invest it to earn a real profit and have it actually be there when i retire.

Here is a PRO TIP: The US Gov ain't a good investment, or a good investor. I made 33% on my investments...I'm sure I lost moeny in SS as my money was siphoned off to pay for Obama's pet projects.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not a Democrat, first off….

Feb 13, 2014, 1:23 PM

Secondly, when President Bush came into office we had a government surplus, and he created a huge deficit by cutting taxes and carrying out two wars without paying for them. That's the reason why we have a deficit.

And by the way you can still invest your own money in retirement investments, the government doesn't prevent you from doing that. The government even encourages it by allowing tax free IRA's. Social Security money was raided first during the Reagan administration. President Obama doesn't have any pet projects because Republicans in Congress prevent him from having a domestic policy.

We have all lost money in Social Security, because baby boomers voted for politicians that raided the Social Security fund.

By the way did you even read my post? I blamed all the Presidents from Ronald Reagan to Barak Obama. I stated nothing about it being all President George W Bush's fault. But, you have to stick to your right wing talking points that someone else tells you to believe in.

Next time, learn how to comprehend what somebody has stated and not make false assertions based on faulty right wing talking points.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

SO SS isn't MY own money also?

Junkyard, I'm not a liberal, I am a moderate, but I have noticed that you post an awful lot of Opinion blogs then treat them as though they are factual news stories and argue them like they are real facts. Sorry brother, but they are just opinions and I view them just like I would if a liberal posted Daily Kos, in short as someone's opinion told from a certain political viewpoint.

Re: This Is Just Too Good To Not Read. Eric Is On A Roll!

Feb 12, 2014, 8:00 PM

The gist of the article we are discussing is that the journalists are Obama lap dogs who went ape chit over Bush firing a couple of U.S. Attorneys, and wanted to hang him for a so called abuse of his power. He could have fired every single U.S. Attorney in the land, and it would have been within his power since all U.S. Attorneys are political POTUS appointments and serve at the pleasure of the POTUS. On the other hand, Obama has exceeded his power by issuing executive orders to change a law for strictly political gain which was passed by the Legislative branch--- Obamacare, a power not delegated to the executive branch and the lapdog media think it is cool.

The Congressional Black Caucus, under the leadership of that brilliant Shelia Jackson Lee who thought the American Flag was planted on Mars, called for the CBC to write "laws" (she did call them executive orders) for Obama to sign and put into law without having congress do it. The lapdog media uttered not a whimper. If a Pub. was POTUS and the tea party pulled a stunt like that(Shelia Jackson Lee was as serious as a heart attack, by the way),the Obama lapdog media would have had a hissy fit and it would have lasted for his entire term.

So, Eric Erickson was not stating an opinion. He was stating a fact about the Obama lapdog media being ###### amd Obama's Mistresses.(allegorically speaking)

Eric was accurately and factually pointing out the obvious double standard and hypocrites in the media. So, yes, you may think it is an opinion, but it is based on facts. He and other Obama critics just don't make this stuff up. So when I post what you deem opinion pieces, they are based on facts. If an opinion piece is written which points out what an abject failure Obamacare enrollment has been or how high the unemployment rate is or any myriad of other things gone to crap under Obama, they are based on facts. The writer may be biting and sarcastic in his presentation, but the facts are still the facts. If you are waiting for so called news stories to give you the facts on anything the liberals do, it will be a cold day in hades before you get that. Maybe you should be curious and research the "opinion" pieces before dismissing them out of hand.

"lapdog media" you live in a fantasy world….

Feb 13, 2014, 4:41 AM

President Obama has received a billion times more criticism than President Bush did. It wasn't even 6 month's into Obama's Presidency before the mainstream media was openly doubting that he could win reelection in 2012. The mainstream media practically fully endorsed President Bush for reelection in 2004. President Bush got no criticism from the media until the American public wised up and realized that President Bush's foreign policy was a complete disaster. The mainstream media was the PR department for the Bush administration for 6 years of his Presidency.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Apparently you are the gatekeeper

Feb 13, 2014, 5:07 AM

No way you beleive this. No way. If so then I am baffled as to how your worldview could so twist reality that you actually do beleive this.

Here are the facts...most in the media are liberal. It is impossible for the media not to slant towards what they believe, most are, afterall, human. No journalist care to dig deep or actually persue the president becasue they like him. He is like them and he is the "cool" president. They eat it up and it keeps them from caring what he does. (Most...not sure what species would be produced with a Chris Mathews-Rachael Maddow baby...but we probably don't have a name for it yet).

That whole made up story by Dan Rather was just pretend, eh? They really liked Bush and thought that would help him politically...its all clear now. Thanks!

The media is only as liberal as it's corporate far right...

Maybe you should learn what hyperbole is….

Feb 13, 2014, 1:32 PM

My point was for the first 6 years of Bush's Presidency he got a blank check from the media. The mainstream media basically just reported President Bush's administration's talking points for 6 years, until the American public wised up and saw that he was doing a terrible job. And during most of Bush's Presidency, Chris Matthews was repeating verbatim what the White House would say.

What I can't stand about the main stream media, ny Times, Washington post, bc, etc, is that they tend to be the most ambitious and best educated journalists that our universities produce. And considering how awesome the money is in journalism, you have question their commitment to the profession. I would much rather listen to college drop outs like Hannity and rush, they barely make any money at all so you know they are in it for the right reasons and not touting a. corporatist agenda
