Diggin' around looking for really hard schedules. In 2010,

Nov 13, 2014, 3:27 PM

Oregon St. played four games against teams who combined for three losses. TCU finished 13-0, and Boise St., Oregon, and Stanford all finished 12-1.

This year, Auburn potentially will play somewhere between 7 and 9 games against teams with 9 or more wins. I wonder if that's some kind of record. It's not an easy thing to try to determine.

Well, I've got one read and response already.

That's pretty good.

1999 Clemson schedule was pretty tough.

Nov 13, 2014, 3:46 PM

Granted there are a few weak teams on there, but we played all 3 teams that finished the regular season unbeaten including VT and FSU who played in the BCS title game that season.

FSU 13-0
VT 12-1
Marshall 13-0
Miss St 10-2

Georgia Tech was good that year too.

Re: '99 was the first year I thought of, too.

Couldn't make a FG against Marshall. Missed a FG late that would have tied FSU. Close with VT until Corey Moore was unleashed on Streeter in the fourth quarter. Lost by three at GT, with Joe Hamilton. That 6-6 team was pretty close to being very good.

I was so excited after that VT game even though we lost.

I thought Tommy Bowden was gonna be the man.

I remember someone putting a post on Tnet that season

Nov 13, 2014, 5:10 PM

comparing TB to Lou Schmoltz. USuC went 0-11 that year and they compared them saying that good coaches find ways to win right away even if they don't have the talent. It excited me so much about our future.

Coots also had a perfect record that season...

0-11....LOL

So let me get this straight coot

Nov 13, 2014, 7:05 PM

It could be as many as 9 games, but USuCk ain't one of em?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

Auburn won't play SC this year...

Nov 14, 2014, 7:25 AM

and also, SC won't reach 9 wins. They'll do good to get 6.

I see my memory is quite fuzzy this early in the morning.***
