Difference between Oklahoma and UGA fans

13

Jun 7, 2023, 8:44 AM

All the reply from Oklahoma fans regarding Wesco have been mostly positive, with a few outliers. Many of them wishing him good luck

All the reply to sammy brown on the other hand......are mostly negative. "He can't handle the SEC" or "we didn't really want him anyway." Yeah, sure leg humpers, you didn't want the highest rated linebacker in 247 history......got it.

Bottom line, these are kids deciding where they are going to go to school to fulfill their lifelong dream. Show some class and be a grown ### adult!

See the OU Coach…….

Now see the UGA Coach…….

Both programs disposition’s flow from those 2 men.

That should answer all questions regarding those 2 programs.

I see it the other way around. Georgia fans were horrible long before Kirby became coach. I don't think it flows from those two, rather the historical culture of those school's athletic departments led to those two different choices for head coaches.

Let's not pretend that had SB chosen UGA TNET wouldn't have one post after another accusing him of valuing NIL money over "family" or lacking the integrity and virtue of a Clemson man.

Well sure

I don't think we would be calling UGA a cult.

If he had chosen GA those things probably would have been contributing factors. Choosing Clemson, especially for the reasons he cited, show he certainly does not value NIL money over "family" or lack the integrity and virtue of a Clemson man.

Your point is well taken. 🤣🤣

Georgia wanted Sammy Brown. He chose Clemson. Good for him and good for Clemson. Georgia will be fine. Had Brown chosen some place else, Clemson would be fine.

Ehh we are most likely losing Carter and Trotter Jr after this season. Not having Brown with them leaving would of been hard to recover from.

Oh please. We have plenty of fans who say the same thing when a player jilts us. Go back and read the comments when we lost the two offensive tackles (that Clemson recruited and wanted) to South Carolina. Same kind of comments all over this board.

In our defense, they did actually choose to live in Columbia when they could have been at Clemson. I think we would all agree that their judgement should be questioned.

Probably some of both.

BTW...I'm not the only person who thinks that. It's a national perception and has been for decades.

Re: Notorious or nefarious?

2

Jun 7, 2023, 10:31 AM

No, its not and it isn't even the consensus here. I've read similar descriptions here about fanbases of South Carolina, LSU, Ohio State, Bama, amd NC State. This language gets tossed around about any school that happens to get a win over Clemson. Its what you do when you can't throw your team's win in their face, you fashion yourself as somehow morally superior and call them names. It isn't anymore complicated or noble than that.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually...

6

Jun 7, 2023, 10:51 AM

it absolutely is the consensus here as well as A LOT of other places, and your choosing to live in denial isn't going to change that, but hey...whatever helps you sleep at night princess.

It is most definitely not the consensus here. Don't speak for us. Georgia fans are really trashy, but NC State, Ohio State, and the Coots are worse.

Re: Notorious or nefarious?

Jun 7, 2023, 2:09 PM [ in reply to Re: Notorious or nefarious? ]

That’s hilarious. In my experience with those fans, I would rate them in this order worst to best:

1 GA
2 Ohio St
3 SC
4 NC State
5 LSU
6 Bama - and they aren’t even close to the other 5. I can easily think of at least 4-5 other schools I would put ahead of them.

And before you make another incorrect statement, these are all based on personal experiences at games except LSU.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Notorious or nefarious?

1

Jun 8, 2023, 11:02 AM

I'm pretty sure I'd put all of those other fanbases, except Alabama, as worse than UGA.

1. Ohio State
2. NC State
3. SC
4. LSU
5. Penn State
6. Tennessee
7. UGA
8. Alabama
9. Notre Dame
10. Oregon

No. It's the consensus.

Jun 7, 2023, 5:10 PM [ in reply to Re: Notorious or nefarious? ]

Your SEC rivals hate you as much as the corn dogs and it's not because of a winning tradition. It's because the majority of your fanbase are fair weather rednecks. I lived the majority of my life in Georgia around them. Sure, there are a few that are tolerable, but even my best friends are absolute UGA losers whenever the mood strikes. Couple that with the crime statistics involving your players and it seems pretty obvious why there is a consensus.

BigCUFan it’s NOT just you! I went to the games in the 70’s and early 80’s when I was a kid and they SUCK! Went in Clemson and Athens. We didn’t get treated as badly in Athens as it could have been because my dad’s best friend was a UGA grad and we were with him in the parking area etc. I effing cannot stand them. They were the original coot fans before USUC became the obnoxious COOTS they are today. Anyone going to all the Clemson games back during that time knows what I’m talking about.

Colonial American history for $500 Alex…

2

Jun 7, 2023, 3:08 PM

For the history challenged blaming Kirby, etc. You guys do know that Oglethorpe founded Georgia as a penal colony to buffer the English colonies from the Spanish. The plan was to put a bunch of rabble rousers between us and the Spanish, and it solved a problem of what to do with too many lowlife prisoners back home in Britain. Barking in the faces of little girls and throwing beer and pee bottles at opposing fans is an expected outcome!
