That joke was told to me a long time ago by a friend who is a Gator. Thought it was fitting this morning.

Yes it was. As of the late 60s, it was still mostly female. When I was in the military and stationed at Elgin AFB, that is where I would spend a lot of weekends for obvious reasons unless I was told a bunch of them were coming over to Destin. Good times then.

The Florida Normal School for Girls. And, the original mascot for the FSU athletic teams, as voted on by the students, was the FSU Sand fleas.
