Neff needs help. Can you suggest next MBB coach

Jan 16, 2022, 10:56 AM

Greg Buckner, is there any other former player that would work, Marquette HC, Dayton HC, what about a staff member on another successful program, Seton Hall HC, USF HC, the Miller guy many of the Tar Heels wanted, others. Needs to be a great recruiter and players coach that will play hard for the coach at all times.

At this point I don’t even think name matters. Heck hire a high school coach. Expectations are already zero.

best for the program but the sport has become such a mess that it’s hard for me to care. Some times I worry about what a Clemson coach would have to do to have a stronger program with all the corruption in the sport.

Having said that, if we are replacing our head coach, I advocate a young up-and-comer. Look for that diamond in the rough and pay him modestly for the industry. If he represents the university well, and his players do the same, and he has success on the score board he can cash in. I have no interest for any big name. I know how names get big in college basketball.

Who is that young hungry coach? I don’t pay attention enough to even guess.

Maybe former player Merl Code? He was certainly ahead of the curve when it comes to today’s NIL rules!

Merl Code went to jail for his bribery case.....Don't see Clemson hiring a convicted felon.

I’m sure Graham would find great enjoyment in hearing what fans think he should do though.

In fact, someone on here started a thread today soliciting opinions, and plans to send it to Graham soon.

You can’t make this stuff up!

What I wouldn't want is a former player form a big time school that uses us as a stepping stone to get back to his "player school" :) I don't want an ACC player, if he wasn't from Clemson. I'd rather have a young up and comer from a smaller school.

Indisputable evidence!

The list of coaches show there are numerous capable young coaches out there that Clemson can afford for the men's and women's basketball team.

1. Craving an opportunity to coach in the ACC.
2. Driven and savvy enough to use football success to help build a good, decent and COMPETITIVE program.

For those who say we can't do better, "WRONG".

extension under DRad's watch? This AD was not a good decision-maker, had nothing to do with the football program's success unless he takes credit for the WestZone expansion (probably does), and was quite happy to ride on convertibles in the parades downtown.
