It's the same time now as it was this time yesterday. Except the TV programming changes.

It’s a shame these peoples’ real life is so boring they have to go make schyatt up to be interesting

Well, in concept the idea is pretty cool, but chronological records are usually its undoing. There was a big kerflufful in the 1990's when an Egyptologist proposed a realignment of Egyptian history by about 300 years. He actually had some pretty strong evidence, but the stronger evidence was to leave the timeline like it was.

It usually happens when you have lesser, or incomplete records, which does frequently occur, or when the record keeping is convoluted, like "King X served for 20 years, then King y for 15, with no fixed dates.

But 600-900 is pretty late for that to happen in European history, not the least of which was because of the one stable entity through out the whole Dark Ages, the Church. They kept pretty good records.

China has some pretty rock solid records on their side too, and when you can match up events record by both, like comets or Marco Polo type travels, that usually seals things down.

Still, it would be interesting to at least hear his evidence in detail. It's certainly happened many times on a smaller scale. The Church once removed about three weeks because of calendar inaccuracies...so the date literally went from like October 4 to October 15 in the correction, whenever that was (can't remember off the top of my head.)

"Catholic states such as France, the Italian principalities, Poland–Lithuania, Spain (along with her European and overseas possessions), Portugal, and the Catholic states of the Holy Roman Empire were first to change to the Gregorian calendar. Thursday, 4 October 1582, was followed by Friday, 15 October 1582, with ten days skipped. Countries which did not change until the 18th century had by then observed an additional leap year (1700), necessitating the dropping of eleven days. Some countries did not change until the 19th or 20th century, necessitating one or two further days to be omitted from the calendar."

It's also why you have Jesus being born in 4 BCE...which sounds insane till you realize it too was a calendar correction from switching between calendars. But 4 years is one thing, 300 is quite another. Plus, so much of it is so well documented, like this list of Popes:

Say, on the off chance there's such a thing as the afterlife, would it be a blessing or curse if time didn't exist?
