The Congaree Club looks like a nice challenging layout, reminds me of Pinehurst "2 somewhat with the sandy areas down the sides of the fairways

And they're featured group is Glover. Wish he'd get going. Beautiful looking on TV. Proud of my State and proud of our Tigers... My goodness, how fun if one of our own wins in a duel with a coot.

Gonna be fun!!!!

Lucas might be deadly if he could ever get confidence back with the flat stick.

That's why he has not won since the 2011 Well Fargo Championship. His tee shots as well fairway shots have been really good but it's when gets on the green and has to putt is his down fall, especially those short putts for some reason or another those have given him so much trouble and it is happening again today.

All that said though,he does have 25,286,960 in career earnings on the PGA Tour since 2001 so he is doing something right that is for sure

Tru Dat. Not too shabby. And I hope no one was thinking I was dissing him. I love em all. Win or lose, thems our Tigers.
Got tons of shoutouts for Clemson on the coverage.

Clemgal .... today Lucas only hit I think eight greens. When you do that, as the announcer said, it puts way to much pressure on your putting. Let's hope tomorrow brings a much better result. The course is playing really firm and fast and you can really hear the thud when the balls hit the putting surface. I like that for the pros, as they know exactly how far their balls are going to go, but when they don't know where they are going to stop, the fun begins.
Congaree Club is really a unique place. I know the Executive Program Director (also a PGA professional and president of Diamond Creek in Banner Elk) and have followed what they were doing there from the very start. I think they have gotten exactly what they wanted from the golf course ..... beautifully designed and challenging. Hope they have plenty of forward tees for all those that have the money to become an "ambassador".

Thanks GR. Yeah, it had really firmed from the early rounds. Forget what they said the scoring differential was but pretty high. When I posted, Lucas was making the turn and was hitting some good approaches. Know exactly what you mean, that 5 foot par putt is a lot more pressure than the 5 ft birdie. Or at least for me. Guess I should have been a little more clear that I was talking in general over the last decade.
Totally agree with the ambassdorship. Getting tons of publicity and rave reviews from the pros. Would be outstanding if the PGA, or very least Korn Ferry would turn it into an annual stop. Just not sure what they'd add/move. Maybe a fall tourney.

There are a lot of egos at that club, as you could probably guess, so I doubt very seriously that they would even consider a Korn Ferry event.

Did y'all hear Trevor Immelman showing Clemson some love?

He mentioned that Lucas was a Clemson grad and they showed a pic of Lucas and Dabo at the top of the hill before he ran down with the team in 2009. Trevor also said he was a Clemson football fan and had been to several games with Lucas.
And you may have known but I didn't - Ian Poulter's daughter goes to Clemson.
