I'll say this for our candidates...the bar is rock-bottom.

You know how campaigns will sandbag their candidate's abilities leading up to a debate, such that any performance can be considered a victory? I think we are seeing that now...although not intentionally. Has the bar ever been lower for two presidential candidates? If Biden gets on a debate stage and doesn't drool on himself, it will be a victory. If Trump doesn't respond to a question about BLM by simultaneously saying "I got yer BLM, right here!" and grabbing his crotch, it's a victory.
My goodness, what a choice to have.

More so I was just reflecting on how low the bar is with our two primary candidates at this point.

and a significant step change up. R’s can field a much more capable candidate in 2024 and perhaps rediscover some conservative policy. Many on this Board like Nikki Haley and there are other intelligent options.
Seems a lot of 2016 Trump supporters are trying to rationalize continued support. Perhaps it has more to do with pride than anything else. If one is thoughtful, lives long enough and has a little self awareness, then that person should recognize an occasional error in judgment.

that believe the same people who are dressing Joe might have some input into how he leads?
I just don't know what Joe stands for after nearly 50 years of evidence.
In my thoughts, can I handle policies I MOSTLY agree with with the added sophomoric behavior? Another thing to consider for those voting for Trump...does it encourage future pub candidates to follow in his steps?
When I look at Biden, I don't know who he is. Maybe he will be a uniter. I do know he supports several things I do not support. Maybe we will get 4 years of nothing until the pubs can get a "real conservative" on the pub side. But I actually believe Biden will do what he is told.
There is a reason more strategic liberals wanted Biden. They cannot win on the far left policies. Dems win running from the center - Clinton, Obama, Biden. Pubs rarely win running from the center.

Trump was the only candidate that could have withstood the 24/7 onslaught of MSM negativity. People like Haley, Romney, etc. would be destroyed. Period. You think the MSM and life long bureaucrats are going to stop now? Now that they know they can sway elections and impeach presidents? Trump is the only option for republicans and is a product of the nastiness of politics.

Or just blindly believe what they tell you?
Dubyah probably got more advice from his pops than Cheney. He might have not been a good president, but claiming that he was either a moran or that he was evil are just ridiculous talking points.
It's the left wing equivalent of right wing people still saying Obama is a Muslim. So tired.

She's certainly qualified. She's smart, articulate, demonstrably conservative and generally well liked. She took some shots for going all in on Trump but most can see that it had more to do with career path than ideology. The stint at the U.N. gave her valuable foreign policy experience. She's sane, rational and knows how to lead by consensus.
She'd give a chance for the GOP to come back into prominence with voters.

Only because I rank Hillary far below Joe, and I believe she had the potential to do more damage as pres than he does. I don't think Biden is a horrible person; Hillary, without a doubt, is. We already know Trump is a horrible person and president as well.
I think in 2016, we truly knew we were ###### either way. With Biden, I think we're at least knowing it will be a small improvement.

thinks about the "corruption" that Biden's opponents hang on him, his ethics and morals are significantly better than Hillary Clinton's. It's just that he seems so far gone, mentally. But that's my real point here - if he handles himself well in the debate (if we have any), it will have been a rope-a-dope that would have made Ali proud.

That's a fact. Plus, Biden is no where near as dangerous as Hillary. She was easily one of the most corrupt candidates for President the Dems have ever put forward, and they cheated to do it.
