That was truly stupid. Whoever came up with that gem should be prosecuted.

It has always amazed me that so many people out of Yale and Harvard end up being

decision makers in government....and then make many truly dumb decisions.

As someone who is a partner in a CPA firm and who had a son in college starting in 2012, getting student and parent loans with the government are so easy and have none of the safeguards necessary to protect the taxpayer from defaults. I could get a parent loan in 2 minutes and the safeguards were not there. No real diligence lender would allow the loans that we are doing for higher education which has also resulted in the increase in tuition costs as money has flooded the higher education system.
