Did Brownell hit on all our true freshman?

We have not seen this many freshman contributors in one year in a long time. If these players do not transfer (and I don't think they will), then we have the chance to have a special team these next 3 years.
Dillon Hunter - He needs to work on his shot making ability, but that will come. He has a nice stroke and he will get there. He is a big body that is a true point guard. He rarely turns the ball over, has great vision, and can drive to the hoop and finish at the rim. Very excited about him.
Josh Beadle - Beadle is lightning quick and can score. He has a long frame and very long arms that helps him create separation and on defense. He's a great slasher, passer, and defender. He has the chance to be an all acc type player
Chauncey Wiggins - Can somebody say Kevin Durant? haha. Dude is 6'10 and can guard any position on the floor. There have been many times that he has guarded the opposing PG and had great success. He even did that last night. His stroke is very pretty and he can hit the 3 and mid range shots with regularity. His mid range game is going to be nasty because he is so hard to block.
RJ Godfrey - He is always one of the strongest players on the court even as a freshman. He is jacked! He has also shown the ability to hit a 3, bang down low, defend, and rebound. He just has a nose for the ball. Any time there is a rebound or loose ball near him he seems to snag it. He also has good post moves that he seems to show nearly every game.
Keep it going freshman! You are all making a huge impact on this team, and we will need you even more as the season goes on.

I think sp and Gibson who is redshirting may also be a very nice surprise next year. Wiggins and Godfrey are both impressive and Hunter is getting going too. Beadle shows some great potential

Happily of course but dang! Who saw this coming? Give BB credit when he does well b/c we sure give him hell when he doesn’t. BB has done really well this year.
And you know what, BB is like DJ to me. I really like the person and want him to succeed so badly because he is a good person through and through. So now that he is seeing success, I couldn’t be happier for him!

In some ways, the injuries were a blessing because these young guys are getting a lot more minutes and experience than they normally would. That will be good for their confidence since we will need that depth as our schedule gets tougher and tournament play comes upon us.

That 2020 class could've been special too if we didn't have the 2 transfers. PJ Hall, Lynn Kidd, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper were all 4* players and both Kidd and Prosper are solid contributors with VT and Marquette. Especially Prosper avg 15ppg and 6 boards.

I can't remember in my lifetime a freshmen class making this kind of contribution. Maybe Barnes era recruiting class? Jamison, Wideman, Jurkunas, Boogie, Toni Christie?

Tyson, Galloway yes, but I wouldn't say PJ is a lock to leave. Hemmingway can also return for his COVID year.

Yes, I think CBB did hit on all 4. Hope they stick around 3-4 years and we can have another good class coming in this year.

I think it's hard to keep all your young players.
Especially a player that is losing minutes to a younger or same class player late in the season.
Hopefully we can keep the team together and NOT have half of them transfer out which seems to happen every year.

It normally is. Most players that have transferred from our program have transferred due to playing time. These freshman are all making an impact month instead right now! Even if PJ, Hemenway, and chase come back, they will have a greater impact next year. They could all potentially be starting by their junior years.
