Did Bama buy into the hype...

Jan 11, 2017, 10:44 AM

...from the media that they had the greatest D of all time and were the crowned princes of college football and all that was left to be done was go through the formality of natty game ritual before their ceremonial crowning.

No wonder their fans were soo crushed...they believed the printed fallacy too.

Surely they became a little concerned with the 8-3 ACC bowl

record ...

...the 31-0 dismantling of Ohio State ...

... the poor offensive performance against Washington ...

... surely they are not that dense

I believe the whole conference has bought into the mantra that they are the best as a whole and that Alabama certainly was "king of the mountain". They are wrong on both counts. Especially wrong on the first part. Alabama is a great program, but there are several great ones out there. We are becoming one right in front of everyone's eyes, and we are doing it the right way, without the hype from "big brother".

That would be fitting.

Nope

Look at it the other way, it's much more refreshing and rewarding.

They were a great defense. An awesome defense. A defense for the ages. Give them every accolade they want.

And then revel in the fact that we just went out there and drove it down their throats twice to win the friggin game. To me that's a much more refreshing and rewarding view to hold. Smile, congratulate them on the awesome defense, and then point out how we just dismantled it when it mattered.

Re: Possibly

I think the Sports Media hyped them as "all world" because the SEC (their flagship brand) as a whole was down (making the 4 loss SEC teams still look good) Ole Miss gave them a game this year and they were not nearly as good as the 2015 Ole Miss. In the SECCG UF (I am also a UF fan) took the opening drive down the field and scored. Then UF's QB starting throwing INTs and it was game over. Bama knew DW was the best they would face; that's why they tried to injure him (and MW and a few others). That backfired as it was their key offensive player (Bo S) that got injured.

Yes Bama is a very good team; Clemson is just better.

Go Tigers!

Bama just really didn't wanna be there...

Jan 11, 2017, 11:42 AM

So.......

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

nothing personal but I just don't get this....

Jan 11, 2017, 11:46 AM

what's the point?

I guess you people who grew up AFTER Cassius Clay and his big mouth

are different that those of us from previous generations.

We learned to show AND know respect where it was due,

and Nick Saban's Bama program has earned every bot of respect you can put on them.

Yes, DW has really challenged them in ways no one else (save Ole Miss) could the last 2 years,

but seriously, we won on a last second TD. The very last second....

I think their D lived up to their billing every step of the way

in a great, great showdown between two truly great teams.

Not impressed...

Jan 11, 2017, 11:58 AM

We put up more points against their D than we did 0hio St.

This after their dirty tactics on D in an effort to cause injury to our players. Don't get me wrong, Bama has a pretty good team but not an ALL UNIVERSE defense that can stop half a dozen NFL teams like they were promoted to be.

That said, good game, one for the ages. Good guys win one and most of the nation relieved that the death star was destroyed but none the less the empire is still in business.
