body language of the players on the sideline, it's clear there's a real distance between Stoudt and the other guys. I've never seen a team that was so different in personality based on one player. I was very supportive of Stoudt at the beginning of the season, and I know he's done nothing wrong from a character standpoint, but this team is just not a functioning unit when he's the QB. It's obvious and it's painful to watch. The best thing to hope for is to finish up this season the best we can, get Kelly Bryant in to backup Watson and march on next year. This season is pretty much finished. Will we beat USC? Who knows? Right now, I don't see it. It's looking like an 8 win season and a mediocre bowl and hopefully a major reevaluation over the winter and spring. It may be that some of our coaches are a little too comfortable based on previous years.

You make good points

Especially about coaches being too comfortable in their positions. We have the highest paid recruiting coordinator in college football... because his official title is "Head Coach". I wouldn't give the recruiting coordinator any authority to determine the starting QB heading into spring ball; but we obviously did just that in 2014. And our highly-paid offensive coordinator didn't know any better either. That's disturbing. People lacking that sort of judgment making $millions is disturbing.

Chad Kelly is immature and his unacceptable responses in the spring warranted his dismissal... but it's not hard to understand why he was frustrated.

Depending on the nature of Watson's injury, Kelly Bryant...

or Tucker Israel may be starting at the beginning of next season. We better hope that at minimum one of them can learn quickly and adapt to college football by the week before Labor Day weekend of 2015.

And Israel too. Forgot about him. We just need to add

What has USuC done to make everyone scared to play

them? I know we have have struggled on offense but I think our D will eat them alive and that the O can do enough to not lose that game.

Ga Tech's D is not good. THEY HELD US TO 6 POINTS

Nov 15, 2014, 6:17 PM

That's pretty much the end of my argument.

We have a poor offensive line.

I agree, and I don't think that's going to get fixed

between now and Nov 29. With Watson you have the element of a running QB who is also dangerously accurate with his throws. With Stoudt you have neither. With Schuessler you have no experience, but at least (today anyway) his passing looked fairly sharp. I have a hard time seeing this team go up against any real competition and coming away with a win right now. I think their confidence is severely shaken and it's going to take the absolute very best that our coaching staff can do to bring them around for the USC game.

Like I said I think our D is strong enough to win that game. I also think the offense will be good enough against USuC to not lose the game. I do not think the coaches were prepared to call plays for Stoudt and he was not prepared to come in.

Beaten us handily for half a decade. Turnovers are back, o is worst in history. No silver lining. Heck I'm scared for our team to play ga state.
