trying to spend my FSA money before it expires. Who else was trying to get rid of some funds? Did you have any luck? I may go to jail for tax evasion and insurance fraud or something, but it was totally worth it.

No luck, really. I'm getting an eye exam Thursday, and figure I'll try and spend the rest on some ridiculously priced retail prescription Costa sunglasses or something that I'll never wear.
Everything I want to get requires a prescription...back pain meds, carpal tunnel arms support..you know STUFF I MIGHT USE.

No friend, my insurance is so crappy that I have an HSA.
On the upside, no annual expiration.
On the downside, anything short of a triple bypass in a calendar year, and I don't meet my family deductible.

I had no choice last year, for whatever reason. The HSA wasn't offered. It was either that or a $200/month PPO.

It may have had something to do with leaving/returning. I dunno. I have an HSA starting 1/1/17.

If you don't qualify, consider it a positive.
Our acquisition by supermegacorp should be finalized in January, so I'm looking forward to moving to a $600 annual family premium from my current $5k one. My monthly contributions decrease by half too.

Although getting the dolts to understand what a HSA is and how we don't have a copay is incredibly ridiculous. I'm hoping by the time I retire I'll have enough cash in it to last till I get close to death's doormat.

Our PPO was more than that. Company gives us $2500 per year to go with the HSA.
PER YEAR.
