I could see someone in say, Charleston joking around with a new Ohio transplant in a bar about Blackbeards hidden treasure being hidden in the lot adjacent to Litchfield Retreat, and thinking nothing of it. Two weeks later, he shows up with millions of dollars in heavy equipment, 2 years worth of sunscreen, and 3 generations of pale, pasty cousins ready to dig.
