All this talk about LSU and OSU looking and playing like the best team in the land. Identical narrative last year about Bama and Oklahoma at one point. How’d that end up?

Truth!

It's the same every year. I fail to see how you can ever truly have accurate rankings without more cross-conference play. But since we don't have that, where do you start? I would ask myself, let's look at how this went last year, the year before, the year before ... etc.

The starting point is the problem. Many of the same teams are given pretty much the same head start every year, so even if they lose a game (sometimes even two) they don't drop very far. It's very difficult to start out of the top 25 and crack the top 6 or 7, even going undefeated. I think the committee should release the only rankings that count all season long, not just starting in November.

Someone told me the other day that LSU deserves to be #1 because they've beaten 3 teams ranked in the top 15 or something. Pfft ... Who decided that those teams were supposed to be ranked in the top 15?

Scar > UGA > FL ... what does that say to you?

Even the committee has to start somewhere. There will always be bias.

Yeah , but then that's taking away all the " Y'all don't play nobody " stuff and eliminates the shock of the upsets that aren't "actually" upsets .
What are we supposed to stand around and talk about for the first 9 or 10 weeks of the season ?

These are the same people that said we would be lucky to make it out of September undefeated. They know another Clemson-Bama final is on the way. They just want to give the illusion that other teams have a chance. The narrative has to change on Saturday after Bama rolls LSU.

I’m pretty sure most experts agree that last years bama team was the most dominant, most talented team in the history of the game with one loss. Espn told and continues to tell me that, so I know it’s true
