That defense I saw last night was better. UGA is one of the best offenses in football. Stats are for losers.

We won, that's all that matters

and that is one of the best offenses we'll see all season. Definitely the best QB and RB combo, so yeah, that's a lot of yards.

I don't care if every team runs up 500 yards as long as we score one more point than they do...

The GA D look pretty bad! That's the reason for the question. Not every team is going to give up 460 to us either.

They held that offense to like 6-7 straight 3 and outs

I'd say that's an improvement. I also like that we were getting beat down, and Venables and the D made the proper adjustments. That used to never happen. Not sure who called the prevent at the end. They did give up a few big plays, but even that is manageable if we're pressuring QB consistently.

I saw improvement especially for first game of season

but still not consistent with some weakness that must be addressed. Short field pass coverage is a key one. And I saw a much improved defensive control of the line but just not consistently so. We may never see another Gurley/Hicks combination. They accounted for over half the rushing yards I think, and only needed the eye of a needle opening to bust out. I doubt we will see many like them otherwise this year.

That is the same team that put up 400 yards against alabama last year in the SEC championship game
