Revenge of the Sith (Ep III) is better than all of the sequel trilogy AND ranks higher than Return of the Jedi.
1. Empire 2. ANH 3. Rogue One 4. RotS 5. RotJ 6. Phantom Menace 7. The Last Jedi 8. AotC 9. Solo 10. Force Awakens
11. Rise of Skywalker
Fight me.

The Last Jedi should always be last

The poorest storytelling just as a movie alone. Completely pointless side plot. A chase... in space? Over fuel?
But more importantly, a complete abandonment of Luke's character that made no sense, more Rey Mary Suein' her way along, and a "I'm gonna change Star Wars just cause I can" from the director.
So bad they had to spend most of Rise of Skywalker to correcting it. So I can't even fault that movie given what they had to fix.

The last sequence in rise of Skywalker with the zombie Palp and the … arena? Of sith… made me want to stand up and walk out. The entire movie was just a disjointed god awful abortion of a Star Wars film. I give TLJ a tiny bit of credit for some creativity, and the AT AT scene towards the end.

Oh, no doubt. It was a canned ending

It checked the box, but wasn't really satisfying. But that's the problem with the whole story: It had to spend most of the time checking boxes and correct the mess that Last Jedi created. That trilogy had potential with Force Awakens (I know that one was a bit rehashed but it set up potential) and Rian Johnson just pissed all over it because he wanted to be artsy and change how we saw things or something.
His storytelling was so stupid in that movie it made you wonder if he had ever seen a Star Wars movie before. Even Mark Hamill was pissed with what they did to his character. Visually, the movie was beautiful, but that's about it.
Also, Rose is worse than Jar-Jar and had poorer character development. I said what I said.

Rose was a terrible character, as is Finn. And Poe. And the purple hair lady. Just dreadfully forgettable, all of it.

Last Jedi was my favorite of the new trilogy.

For much the same reason you hated it. It wasn't perfect, but I loved its version of Luke and the last "fight" with Kylo was fantastic.
I also loved the direction he was taking the franchise (away from the Skywalker family saga) and opening the Universe up. It felt like how 'Empire Strikes Back' felt in completely changing the tone and narrative of the series while still capturing the spirit that makes the franchise so fun. It even has a big twist like Empire.
Force Awakens was good in that it introduced some interesting new characters but the plot was rehashed garbage from New Hope (Death Star is now...EVEN BIGGER!).
Rise of Skywalker was like you said, just JJ Abrams trying to throw away everything Rian Johnson did and continuing on with his "let's just redo the first trilogy again!" which obviously resulted in disaster.
I think Disney even said they didn't have a plan going into the trilogy and I think that was a huge mistake. I understand Lucas got lucky by doing the same thing in the first trilogy but I think that's a clear exception that proves the rule. Or, it's just hard to do a trilogy well.
((Tangent: What's the best trilogy of movies? There's lots of examples where the first two movies are good but the series falls off a cliff with the third. The only two trilogies I can think that nail all three movies is Lord of the Rings, and the recent Planet of the Apes movies. Even with the original Star Wars trilogy there's contention about Return being good.))

I would have Force Awakens at 6. I rewatched Phantom Menace a few months ago because I had seen some people say its not as bad as they remembered. It was truly awful. The Darth Maul fight scene and score was the only redeeming feature. I haven't see AotC in a while but I can't imagine it is worse than Phantom.
I haven't seen Solo or The Last Jedi/Rise of Skywalker. The reviews were so bad for TLJ (and the Force Awakens so mediocre) I invoked "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" protocol and decided ignorance was bliss.

The Last Jedi had a long space chase! With the good guys about to run out of fuel!
Seriously. They were chasing. In space. With the bad guys having the ability to warp ahead of them but deciding not to.

I’m an admitted TPM apologist. Something about the time it came out in my childhood, I have nostalgia for it. Same for AotC honestly. I rate the whole prequel trilogy light years ahead of the sequel disaster.
Force Awakens was just too reboot-y for me to get into it. The fan service and complete rip-off of ANH are just so… off putting.

I don't take them nearly so seriously...

The first one was a semi-innovative mish mash between samurai films and westerns that I absolutely fell in love with because I was nine. I loved the next two. I didn't like Jar Jar or the Jake kid's ###### acting, but I enjoyed the movies. Same for the last three. Fun to watch if you just don't take them too seriously.
My two favorite sequences outside the OT were actually Darth Vader at full power at the end of Rogue One and Luke at full power at the end of The Mandalorian.

Agree wholeheartedly with your second paragraph. If we include Mando and Boba Fett, both are dang near the top of my favorite Star Wars content.
