Interestingly, he says he feels better about the team than he did a month ago. Wasn't it a month ago that he said other teams didn't want to play us? How'd that work out?
I realize he needs to express optimism, but some comments just shouldn't be made.

I mean, this embarrasses you?
I'm absolutely not taking up for him on the performance of the team this year and in recent seasons. I'm not, in any way, giving him a pass for those.
But, I think it's pretty clear all he's trying to do is instill some confidence in the team by talking them up. How this embarrasses or bothers anyone is beyond me. It's coach-speak, and taking it seriously seems silly.

Embarrassing behavior for a coach.
Letting a multiple delinquent play ball after 5 strikes is embarrassing behavior for a coach.
Sticking by your team and staff is not embarrassing behavior as a coach.
20 years of service graduating fine young men into the game of life is not embarrassing behavior as a coach.
You are embarrassing yourself as a fan, which is your right to do so. I just hope you never coach any one in anything. You do not have the mentality for it.
