Why do we hate uga? Just look at the news. The day you poast your thread was the day 2 (more) players were arrested for reckless driving. Can you see the irony here? Kirby is a great coach but he has enabled an attitude of "win and all else will be forgiven." It also doesn't help that uga couldn't hang with the big dogs (pun intended) until NIL turned college ball into pay-to-play mercenary free agency.
Dabo and even Saban were interested in developing student athletes into well-rounded young men. They don't always work out but the track record is commendable. Kirby is enabling young men to act like entitled thugs because they win games. It's not a good look.
Also please tell your bulldog brethren to stop spitting on opposing fans. It's gross.

Also, unpopular opinion but I've found bulldog, volfan, and afbulldog to be reasonable and cordial for the most part. I just don't understand how you can look at the current uga football program and say "how could anyone not like us?"
I respect the football team for being as dominant as they've been, but the culture is toxic to say the least.

Regarding the situation with arrests at UGA, I posted a lengthy opinion on an earlier thread, To summarize my two-cents, Kirby has to fix this. Whatever he has tried to do to remedy it hasn't worked. It's dangerous and embarrassing and he's responsible to stop it.
As for why people here hate UGA, it isn't because of arrests or culture. If UGA athletes were renowned for good deeds and their kindness to humanity, people would still trash the program. Read the threads anytime Clemson loses on the field. The winning team's fanbase is "trash." That's the stuff you say when you can't brag about the win. Same with cheating. When you lose or the other guy wins something (like a championship), the easiest thing in the world to do is go off about how they cheated, or there s a global consipracy against your coach or school.

Kirby is the ring leader of Thug U , you stop the thug like tendencies by true punishment and not a slap on the wrist . The play and win at any COST is why I hate Georgia . It’s like purchasing a 1000 hp high end car and then bragging about beating a kids Honda that he can barely pay for .

By same token, we play by the same rule book. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I dislike UGA because their narcissistic fans annoy the crap out of me. Kirby just plays the pay to play game better than Dabo. Hate to admit that, but it's fact.

This has been Kirby's MO since he's been at UGA, this is nothing new. He's not the only one, but coaches who allow this type of criminal behavior to go unchecked with little to no punishment only exacerbates the problem. There was a certain coach at FSU who was famous for allowing and excusing poor behavior. I won't say his name but it rhymes with Loudin.

I don't know if UGA's drunk driving/speeding woes are common throughout 18-24 year old males in the U.S. or how it ranks compared to other NCAA programs. He has had to discuss it for several off seasons now. I suspect his success has given him some leeway as far as discipline. I remember Fulmer at UT saying something about youthful foolishness when one of his players robbed a store with a gun. That's not what is happening at UGA but will Smart ever build a reputation that this behavior won't be tolerated? Will he make the hard call of cutting/benching contributors in order to send that message?

I have said for years the only other fan base that could possibly top GA in terms of rudeness, vulgarity, and arrogance is Ohio St. This is a team we hold a 4-1 lifetime record against and were 4-0 before the 2020 joke season playoff loss to them. There are definitely no sour grapes involved in that opinion. Winning or losing doesn’t influence our opinions regarding other fanbases. The exact opposite may be true because we usually see the worst fan behavior after we have just beaten their team, again. NC St is another great example. We are 60-30-1 against them and many Clemson fans put their fan base near the bottom of the barrel as well.
There is also a lot of respect among Clemson fans for Alabama and Nick Saban and their fan base although our record against them isn’t as good. I don’t like Notre Dame but their fan base is head and shoulders above GA or Ohio St. Nice try but your argument just doesn’t hold water.

There are exactly two scenarios where Clemson fans how respect to Saban and Bama. The first is when Bama plays Georgia and you suddenly find a lot of Clemson Tide fans here. The second is when Sabn retired. Before that he was a cheat.

I have been a Tiger fan for over 45 years. How do you suppose you can tell me what Clemson fans do and don’t respect? I’ll always pull for Bama when they play any team from the Big 10, PAC 12 or Notre Dame. And yes, I always have and always will pull for them against GA. I was completely behind Saban when he called out the spoiled, entitled fans a few years ago. And reminded everyone here of that when Dabo made similar comments last year. Once again your comments are a huge swing and a miss. You really don’t know what you are talking about. But you just keep barking.

Is the UGA President SPINELESS? Anytime he or she wants they can call the AD and Kirby into a meeting and say fix it or start looking because these arrests are an embarrassment to the university. Yes it is that simple. The same UGA fans will be there in the end.

Partly true. Every fan base is like that to a certain degree.
Obviously we are bothered by your recent success but many attribute that to the degree Kirby will manage his program at any length regardless to the situation being ethical or not.

I agree somewhat... I hate all the schools we play. There is not a team in the ACC, SUC, B1G, or any other conference I ever pull for. That's the reason I only watch Clemson games.

The reason I despise UGA is because I live in Madison County and have to listen to their narcissistic insanity every day of my life. They even want to try to talk football trash at church. I wear a Clemson hat on occasion, but I never antagonize or start stuff, but I have to listen to crap all the time.
That's why I can't stand UGA culture.

UGA is at the top of my Sh&$ list and always has been followed closely by the goobers in Columbia. My opinion is based on my experiences going to games in Athens in the 70’s and early 80’s when I was a kid. I have never treated visiting fans at Clemson the way some of their fans treat visitors.
I hate to see them win because I don’t care to see their sector of trashy toothless redneck fans have anything to gloat about. I know a lot of people probably don’t care for Saban but I think he’s impressive in what he’s achieved and the way he achieved it. I have nothing against Bama although they beat us several times in the playoffs. The fans I encountered in AZ and Tampa were not bad.
