Ok Lounge, need advice again. Charlotte/Ft. Mill area...

Apr 24, 2018, 8:54 AM

We have a chance to relocate soon. Any advice on areas? Kinda leaning to stay in SC for daughters High School. Burbs of Charlotte or Fort Mill area?
Thanks in advance you guys are the best

moving to Fort Mill in droves. Fort Mill is getting to the point of traffic gridlock and there is almost zero real estate inventory available. Rock Hill is the next option, except there are already too many people that don't belong here already, and adding more goes a long way towards making me angrier than I normally am. So really, this pretty much leaves Chester, which you'll absolutely love. I promise.

I will say, that the Craft Stand possibly has the best

A lot of bottle shots/tap houses overdo the sours, ciders and the fruit beers to bring in the non-beer crowd. Craft Stand is all about those IPAs and Imperial Stouts.

I go there all the time because it's in striking distance. The ribs are solid if you like big, fatty ribs. Brisket is okay. Haven't tried the pulled pork.

Greenville
Orangeburg

Just curious, that's what I am, curious... How about the Chesterish along the Catawba river?
Is that dangerous, or doable, or really the bestest way to live? Cause I'm curious and just plain don't know any better. My dad was from Great Falls a long time ago.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That edge of Chester County is basically wilderness

Apr 24, 2018, 12:37 PM

with small pockets of civilization in Fort Lawn and Great Falls. I wouldn't say dangerous, but it's a long ride for anything you might need to buy outside of what a Dollar General stocks.

Apr 24, 2018, 9:14 AM

and the traffic was fuggggin BRUTAL every day because of all the people who moved to Fort Mill from New York, New Jersey, and other Yankee locations and work in Charlotte. My 45 minute commute could be easily an hour and a half at least once a week. I would suggest the little hamlet known as Chester, SC which is just off I-77 a little south of Charlotte.
