Friday: Killed a 5 ft chicken snake going after my chickens. Posted the picture to buddy book. tigermanac® noticed my cheese wheel mushroom head in my shorts. So I took the picture down. Don't know if I should be pissed that he saw it, or that NOBODY else noticed.
Also caught up with Pirates of the Caribbean. Also learned I like spiced Rum.
other than that, a normal weekend.

Friday – Nada, waited to hear from the kiddo about Daniel beating Berea in the state soccer playoffs (playoffs? You talking playoffs?), which they did 3-1.
Sattidy – went to Mtn Rest to the Chatooga Fly Shop for some line but didn’t buy the $130 spool. Stopped in Walhalla for an arts festival then headed to Pickens for the Azalea festival where, ironically I didn’t see any azaleas. Went out for our 34th in the ‘Lectric city, stopping 1st at Shucks for a dozen gulf oysters on the half shell then on to Earle Street Kitchen for a nice dinner.
Sunday – Church and a nice Mother’s Day lunch at the Waffle House. Worked on the boat. Grilled a honey bourbon salmon for din-din

I knew Billy Strings at the Ryman would be special, but when Bobby Weir came out in the 2nd set on Saturday to play an entire set with the band playing Grateful Dead songs and covers, it was the most amazing thing ever
Set One: The Fire On My Tongue > Must Be Seven > Likes Of Me, A Good Woman’s Love, Thirst Mutilator > Dust In A Baggie, Fire Line > Reuben’s Train, In The Morning Light, Know It All, Meet Me At The Creek
Set Two: Wake Up Little Susie, [1, 2] Dire Wolf, [3] Cassidy, [4] China Doll, [4] Help On The Way > [4] Slipknot! [4] > Franklin’s Tower, [4] Wharf Rat, [4] Bird Song, [4, 5] To Lay Me Down, [4] Tennessee Jed [4]
Encore: Brokedown Palace [4]
[1] – Bob Weir and Billy Strings duo, both on acoustic guitar [2] – BS, BW vocals [3] – Bob Weir and Billy Strings duo, Bob Weir on electric guitar [4] – With Bob Weir on electric guitar [5] – Bob Weir switched to acoustic guitar mid-jam
Wake Up Little Susie was great, Slipknot was amazing, Tennessee Jed was perfect for the venue, and Brokedown Palace left me in tears

Friday ran into an old friend at the Peach Blossom at lunch time and talked for a bit. When I got ready to leave found out he had paid for my lunch. Got home to a message that I’d been moved off the wait list for the Saluda Shoals bbq competition. Cut grass. Watched baseball Where’s that team been all season?
Saturday up early to Saluda Shoals. Ran boxes from turn in to the judging area. Sampled some good leftovers. Good friend took 1st place. Saw another friend I hadn’t seen in a while. Was a beautiful day at the park. 26 was a parking lot so I turned around at the top of the exit ramp and took 176 and it was a parking lot too took over 2 hours to get home.
Sunday taught momma’s Sunday school class then stayed for church. Been so long I stood up at the wrong time after the offering- one of my old teachers that sings in the choir actually laughed at me. Hung around too long visiting and missed our window for Mother’s Day brunch at the old folks home so I cooked pork chops green beans mashed taters and kraut which is a family favorite
Good one all around

Cinco-y

Celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Friday evening at Palmetto. Margaritas were strong and the food was delish. Stayed late then went home and stayed up some more. Wife and I got a little banged up. Crashed.
On Saturday, welcome party for my brother's adopted son. Had a few beers but was still tired from the night before so took it easy. Golf course to hit balls and practice chipping a little bit. Took little one over to friends house, but we were all tired so called it early and went home and crashed again.
Not much on Sunday, chilled in the morning. Took little one to the store and then the park. Went home and did the mother's day thing with wife. Took card over to mom's house but she was asleep so quietly left it and went home. She called later after she found the card. Good M.D. all around.
10 tequila's out of 10.

Thursday: Tied on a good one after my partner and I won our Thursday night golf game with a net 27 in TX Scramble. Upset some people on Twitter late in the evening.
Friday: Deleted tweets while drinking three cups of coffee in AM. Took a nap. Won a bunch of money after the Kentucky Oaks went exactly as I predicted in the Amphitheater thread.
Saturday: Drove to Charlotte to party and bet on the derby with my gambling club. Told mom the reason I came up was to visit her on Mother’s Day. She wasn’t happy when I got to her place at 1:00am.
Sunday: Took mom to Waffle House in the morning to make up for getting home late. We were politely asked to leave when mom offered to top off any other mothers’ orange juice with vodka she brought with her. Played a quick round and then watched the junior golf tournament that we bet on finish up. I was hoping to recoup what I lost on Derby but ended up doubling my losses. There is a reason longshots don’t win junior golf tournaments. I knew this but somehow figured it was going to be different this time.

Decent....

Friday - wife-of and I hit Saffron in G'ville for dinner. Love that place.
Saturday - up early and drove to Aiken for Aunt's (Dad's middle sister) funeral in Beech Island. Not an Aunt I was particularly close to or had much to do with. Her family is legit looney, but the funeral was pulled off with the lowest possible amount of crazy...there was still some crazy, but the best that could have been expected under the circumstances. No one was wearing a wife-beater and no beer was consumed in the church during the service (likely was some pre-game). Wasn't planning on going until my Mom hit me with "your Dad would have wanted you to go" line, which was a low blow.
Then took my Mom and one of her friends to Outback in Aiken for lunch. First decent Outback experience I've had in a few years. Took the one in Anderson off of the approved list some time ago.
Hit the La Parisienne French bakery up for some pastries to bring back to wife-of, which was a big hit. Back to Anderson in time to take wife and daughter-of to Maki for dinner. Good as always.
Sunday - low key. Cooked a small breakfast and started in on Mother's day honey-do list, which wasn't too bad (cleaned kitchen, vacuumed and swiffered/mopped all hardwood floors, changed some lights, changed a toilet seat, and so on). Wife and daughter went to G'ville to buy some outdoor rocking chairs, go to mall for clothes for daughter, and they ate lunch at bonefish. Got off from having to cook big dinner 'cause they weren't hungry. Watched all 4 episodes of the new Bosch (was pretty good) and in bed at a decent time.

Went up to visit my best friend, who threw an incredible Derby party. Somehow got away with hiring a bartender from a strip club to serve drinks although his wife may take over the hiring duties next year.
We bid on horses. I bid over $100 on Epicenter; the pot was $1,100. The couple who bid on the winning horse bid $15. Oh well.
Either way, made up for it with plenty of free drinks.

Friday, visited RH Mom after work, ran a couple of errands, home to eat, and start watching the final season of Better Call Saul.
Saturday, up early to help with the Palmetto School Spring Carnival. The Palmetto School is a Title I charter school that handles kids with very shaky family situations, Mrs. Tig, and Joonyer both serve on the board so I spent the entire being the gopher/utility man for the event. Got home around 5:00, took care of all the animals then off to Fort Mill to watch wrasslin' at the Strawberry Festival since MEDIUM volume acoustic jam got canceled. Walked past Jimmy Valiant, who didn't wrestle, but did get to see the Rock and Roll Express in the 8-man tag team finale. We had a freaking blast.
Sunday, lazy morning, then grocery run, over to see RH Mom, then back home so Joonyer could help me hook up and hang the new wireless camera system. FYI, Wyze cameras are very inexpensive and work great. Cooked chicken alfredo, Joonyer and his wife ate with us and hung out until around 8:00. Cleaned up the kitchen, watched Fear The Walking Dead, and crashed.

bout fed up w/ this nonsense...when is it going to warm up???
Fri - picked up dawghater2baby from daycare and went to get some beers and pizza
Sat - woke up to play golf. my neeples were hard enough to cut diamonds. it was cold, windy, gray...just some typical midwestern BS. played fairly decent tho...starting to dig my swing out of the gutter. went from the course to a couples baby shower. luckily they had a keg and some good food.
bounced from there and tried a new Messican joint on the way home that was always packed. bad mistake.
sun - woke up at 4 am ######## my brains out. started slamming pepto and metamucil. able to get some more sleep and pepto'd my way out of it...but eff that place in the b-whole. gave my wife her first mother's day diamonds, got a nice reward for that.
went and had some mother's day brunch at the club w/ MIL & FIL. dawghater2baby stole the show. I ate my bodyweight in prime rib, crablegs, sea bass, some mac & cheese that descended right from God's kitchen, and many more fixins. proceeded to lay on couch remainder of day.
solid first mother's day weekend

I've reached the age of 60 and was able to spend Mother's day weekend with my mom.
Sitting on the couch watching bad television...little bit of yard work she wanted done...Bojangles sausage biscuit in the morning because that's her favorite.
Happy I'm able to understand just how incredibly blessed I am.

Friday no idea
Saturday - went out on a friends boat only to find out there was a small craft advisory and it was blowing about 20-30. I was voted to drive, because neither one of those guys can handle a boat and they were skeered. Found a protected beach on the back side of Daniel Island and drank a bunch of beer.
Sunday-spent 5 hours taking my mother to lunch, then later went to go see a buddy's band play on Shem Creek/Muddy's bar at Vickery's, and drank beer. WHY IS IT 50 DEGREES IN MAY?? Saw a $3300 Louis Vitton purse another friend bought his wife for her birthday, and I kinda pondered that decision for a bit, watched youtube videos, then woke up today.

for the family and had dinner. Watched a movie and then went to bed later.
Saturday woke up late and headed to Greenwood with wife and the kids to see her mom's grave. It's her first visit since the funeral and it was kind of emotional but it was good. Ate at the Dixie which seem kind of overrated. Chili-cheese burger doesn't hold a candle to Rush's. Got a call from Crazy Uncle Billy (first one in at least a year and a half) like 15 minutes after we left the gravesite. Creepy. Got home and had a drink or two and went to bed.
Sunday got up and went grocery shopping for dinner that night. Then headed to Brunch with Dad and Stepmom and stepsiblings. Was meh food. Went to drop gift off at their house on the way home and it turned out it was an excuse for her to brag about all the money they were spending upgrading their mansion and for him to ##### about all the money they were spending upgrading their mansion. Got home and cooked Ribeyes, Salmon, scalloped potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts for Mom, wife and kids. Was good but wife was still super emotional about missing her mom, so meh.
