Debt ceilings are unconstitutional.....yes or no?

Sep 30, 2021, 4:38 PM

I think most would agree that because so many politicians are unusually motivated by their own self-interest, rather than the nation's interest, a separate requirement is an unconstitutional subversion of the full faith and credit of the United States.

I don’t know if it’s unconstitutional, but I will say

I think the debt ceiling should be voted on at least 5 years in advance. That way we’re not faced with bureaucrats fighting for their personal pork bills when we somehow... out of nowhere... run out of money again.

5 years? Better make it $100 trillion then.***

I wish you were wrong.

But that’s sort of my point.

Well, at least we know where this goes.

This should send stocks MUCh higher tomorrow. Debt stays cheap and cheap debt is more valuable than a deflated dollar.

It doesn’t matter what they raise it to, it will never be enough.

They don’t work because we elect a new Congress every couple of years. The people who voted to spend the money two to four years ago are the same people who now are refusing to pay for their own spending. Why?

The hypocrisy is staggering.
