Americans are everywhere here. They see Americans and hear our accent every day on TV and in music. I found Aussie girls prefer dudes from the UK. That's not to say Americans don't do well, just what I've seen.

Depending on the type of biologist you are, I imagine you might be spending a lot of your time on Heron Island. Regardless, Brisbane is a great city. Just make sure you pronounce it as "Brisbin", not "Brisbain". Welcome to my part of the world!
