Danny Ford was very successful in bowl games...............

Dec 22, 2015, 7:49 AM

One thing he did was take the team to the bowl site about two weeks before the game. This allowed the team to become acclimated to the humidity and temperature at the bowl site. Kind of wish Dabo would do the same instead of giving the kids so much time off. I don't think any of Danny's teams got to spend Christmas at home. They were too busy practicing.

I'm not sure but I think the NCAA has tightened the rules on that sort of thing.

There is no specific time limit....

on the number of practices a team may hold while preparing for a bowl game. However, the standard NCAA regular season practice rules do still apply (i.e., a maximum of four hours per day and twenty hours total per week). The longstanding belief that bowl game practices are capped at fifteen is a complete myth which is likely tied to the rules for spring practice when teams are limited to fifteen practices.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Actually I think Dabo has done great with bowls. He learn from the first too.
He's beaten three very successful teams. Think we're good.
GO TIGERS!!

I was thinking about that recently. If I recall correctly, we usually practiced in Daytona Beach. I think that was a big factor when we beat Nebraska.

Well considering it will be 81 in Columbia on Christmas,

maybe they should use USuCks indoor facility. Lord knows they aren't using it.

Current ncaa rules only allow 15 total practice days. Bowls dictate where you stay and your "official" arrival date.

the rules changed sometime in Bowden

era regarding practice. I was a student equip manager on the 95 team that got slaughtered by Cuse in Gator Bowl.

We went down to Daytona for 10 days prior to moving back up to Jacksonvillle for the last bit of practice.

I would bet Dabo would rather keep them in Clemson. The group we were with partyed pretty hard while in Daytona. Got our arses hand to us by McNabb and Harrison in game.

Ford had his teams prepared for Bowl games, but so does Dabo

Two different approaches - same results.
