Dabo needs to check in the Georgia WR who transferred

He announced he is going into the transfer portal yesterday.
Former 4-star WR Jermaine Burton had 26 recs for 497 yds and 5 TDs this past year.
We need as much help in this position as we can get so I think it would be a good idea to reach out to him at least.

I agree but I do believe he is willing to look into some prospects like the Virginia lineman for example. I think this could be one of those where we it would be beneficial to show some interest.

I agree. Even if this isn't the one you want or if he decides he's going elsewhere you still show you're interested in a passing game. It may signal to the next guy your commitment to a system that will help him demonstrate his abilities to the next level.

Dabo’s probably a bit worried about what it signals to Adam Randall and Antonio Williams, EJ, Ngata, etc. He has the receiver talent. Just needs to get them healthy and make sure the coaching em up part is happening.

It's no coincidence this happened after Stetson Bennett aka Screech announced he would return. Kirby will once again rely heavily on running, short passes to TEs hoping for YAC and defense. UGA's defense will be weaker next year Bennett may have to pass more to keep opponents for stacking the box. With the portal you'll see more position players like WR leaving coaches that are stuck to the run, 3-4 defenses etc. Players will go to schools where they can show the NFL their skill set. WR U should happily consider all possibilities and make sure they have a QB that can support a balanced attack.

Possibly the #1 of pos group but we wouldn't want to fill a significant need through the transfer portal, might send the wrong signals or some b s to that affect...maybe a walk-on will emerge

Maybe not but we sure could have used a corner. Or two. Been some good ones that entered since November. Experience grad linebacker would be nice too.

Actually he does not need to check in. We have a full compliment of talented receivers when healthy plus this will simply be an NIL battle. Big no thanks...

You are right. Dabo is playing Chess while Saban playing Checkers falls for the trap and welcomes him to Alabama.

I mean they were arguably our worst position group this year. When Will Swinney is starting games over healthy players, you know we are not doing good.
I'm not saying this transfer will solve any issues, I just think he might be a decent pickup in the portal. The freshmen we have coming in may make a difference a get a lot of playing time this year, but our receiving core as a whole was down this year.

Yep...we had injuries. Like I said, when healthy we are pretty stacked and will be this next year. We have also have 2 new WR's in this class as well. It's not a need with what we have. Probably our least important area where we need help. That said, if the guy is good enough, why not? Look at Williams at Alabama from Ohio State?

this group of WRs aren't even close to our 2015-2018 era WRs.

We will find out, but the Collins dudes were young and we will have 5 WR's that didn't play between, Taylor, Spector, Stelalto, Randall, and Williams.
