I read on here that he made some comments at an event trying to put an end to the Big 12 rumors...saying no shot of us leaving ACC. True - what was said? Think there is something to it or is he trying to help ease some of the recruiting rumbles as I read Gallman is now iffy.
He said that we are in the ACC, and that if we get the job done at CU, the championship game is not a problem no matter where we play. He stated that last year, we were unranked, but got to number 5 before we started our slide. Dabo also said that the Clemson brand is the thing; that it is respected nationally. As far as the Big 12, he said that he was a COACH, and that if they tell him we are going to enter the PAC 10, that's where we would be! From his comments, I don't think he wants to leave, and I don't think we will. Said the rumors HAVE affected recruiting. Coach Brownell said the same. Also, he said that Sammy texted his kids and most if not all the other coaches kids and apologized for "letting them down." (On his own) Brownell is a great speaker, and both of their comments make me proud to be a Tiger! Also, Charlotte Clemson Club is the bomb as far as their meeting! Pep band, tiger, silent auction - Great job.
"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Savior. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton
I asked Dabo about Sammy's status. He gave a long answer but he implied Sammy has a checklist of things to accomplish this summer and his discipline will be determined based on how well he completes the checklist.
Dabo and Brad are excellent people and stand-up guys. I am also proud to be a Tiger and am glad they are at Clemson.
It was a first class event at Myers Park Country Club!
