Dabo is here to win

Dec 16, 2012, 11:22 AM

Championships and bowl games. The coots cant stop us frm doing that if we do loose to them every year. That game just a rival game.Yall know carolina aint got no experience in championship games or big time bcs bowls like we do. So why does everybody make that game a big deal for us. They will never never stop us frm winning championships bc were just that #### good!!!! Go tigers!!!!

That's looser mentality. I wanna beat them coots.

Order will be restored when we beat those loosers next year.

There's something in these hills.

Two words..."bragging rights"

In state rivalry games force teams to get better. It's about pride.

Have you ever thought of asking why most states have an "in-state" rivalry? I keeps the fans interested.

And, you "ain't" a great FB Team if you lose instate game...

Dec 16, 2012, 11:52 AM

4 freaking straight times...plus lose the #1 instate high school player recruits to them too during the same time.

Dec 16, 2012, 11:58 AM

The nation in general and the national media does not give a rats #### about that so called rivalry game I personally would much rather wHip them DAWGS right down the road .

Natioally it is all about polls and championships !

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If you use the national perception approach that game falls

Dec 16, 2012, 2:34 PM

Right into the category of national perception. In case you haven't seen any of the bowl previews there seems to be a comparison of why we will struggle in this game because of the unimportant game you are referring to

It also stands to reason that the current level of

Competition the coots present is to be expected in these championship and bowl games we are aspiring to reach. Seems to me it would be "good practice" to start beating them. That game will become unimportant only if they revert back to a laughing stock

Don't you think that beating sakerlina would have raised us in the polls?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is he here to win EVERY game...

Dec 16, 2012, 12:06 PM

...or just enough to keep us in decent or better bowl games?

I'm not a Dabo-hater wanting his head. I just have a hard time believing he considers winning EVERY game his primary goal given how in some key losses it just looks like the team, from players to coaches, just shut down. WVU and SCar come to mind since the last bowl. Add to that he is the only coach I can remember who even TALKS about losing before playing a game, and he seems a different kind of bird. Why in the world would a coach consider a loss in front of a microphone EVER before a player has ever reached the field?????

First off, every coach worth his weight in salt wants to win,but you need to distinguish Championships from bowl games.Bowls like the Chic-Fil-A,Gator,Capitol One,and Outback are rewards for winning seasons, but only a select few get to BCS Bowls, which are rewarded by winning conference championships,or obtained thru at large bids for finishing in the top 10 in the polls.
Granted ,it was along shot, but Clemson had an outside chance of a BCS bowl by winning it's instate rivalry game. That in it self should make that game a big deal.
Win ,or not,Dabo has not taken care of the instate rival.
And we are not as good as you seem to think we are.
Make a deal out of that!

It IS a big game because it IS a rivalry game! Sure, we ....

Dec 16, 2012, 12:44 PM

want to win a national championship, bowl games, and conference champtionships. But losing to SCar each year can certainly lessen our chances of ever winning a national championship since it almost seems necessary to be undefeated to be in the game to start with. To say that it doesn't matter if we lose to USC is crazy, and sounds like just some excuse to soothe the fact that they have handed our tails to us on a platter the last four years straight. And besides, if you had gone to Clemson when I did you would never be saying the game isn't "that important."

I think Clemson's recent lack of success in athletics against South Carolina is a result of the coaching/athletic director transitions,
(at Clemson) recruiting, conference affiliations, (South Carolina now has an edge since joining the SEC) and athletic department philosophies.

The recent NCAA violations proved (to me at least) that South Carolina has been willing to do things beyond NCAA regulations in order to win. Although I'm not suggesting that Clemson athletics do the same, I think there has been a less proactive approach from many within the administration and athletic department at Clemson. I also think this explains some of the lack of success & coaching changes.

are on this post, whether you call yourself Tiger Fans are not - you are definitely not all in! An LSU win will solve many problems plus soothe our loss to the coots!
