We are cutting spending this month to save money for our upcoming Myrtle Beach vacation.
So I cut my own grass this week
Told her we would not be eating out anymore this month (those $60 meals are eating our budget, especially paying for my live in MIL's meals that she refuses to pay for)
So she demands that I don't buy anymore alcohol this month. Fine, I don't "buy" my alcohol anyhow.
Now her domestic violence cousin is over here cleaning the house so her kids can have a Christmas.
Told her, "since you're paying her $50 to clean, I can buy a $28 handle of Evan Williams white label."
Apparently that was the wrong thing to ask

I miss it over there. I'm not homeless, but the place I'm in now isn't near as nice as living on IOP, Either way, I'm sure its still nicer than whatever hovel you are living in, and certainly in a much better location.
I'm strongly considering moving to Islamorada, FL, and talking to a realtor today about a rental to see if I will like it long term.

Half the house was being renovated so it was only $700 a month in wild dunes. Great time for sure, kids were young and I just worked all day while my wife sat at the pool and beach.

The street we were on was a little busy (21st ave) but it was centrally located. I could hear the ocean at night, and I was 2 miles to the marina and walking distance to the bars and restaurants. It's really a neat little community out there. Its completely separated from the traffic if Mt Pleasant; its like its own little world out there.
If something doesn't work out in the keys for me, I'm hoping the rising interest rates bring house price back down to something somewhat affordable out there again.

for more than double what I sold it for in 2012.
That place was a POS when I bought it; I'm sure time hasn't helped it any. Best part about it was the palm tree I planted in the front yard and the countertops and floors I put in. I remember one month every major appliance in it broke, from the A/C to the dishwasher.
When I first moved in I was all worried about a hurricane destroying it; by the time I sold it I was hoping for one. Best days of that house were the day I bought it and the day I sold it.

outside of family. So we sold our house and bought my uncle in law out of his portion of the sale.
So a house for 50% (actually it came to about 65% of the purchase price.
Using the other portion we didn't have to pay (what I tease IE about with equity) to add on to the master bedroom and add a master bathroom
Now MIL is getting a divorce and needs a place to crash until everything is final so she's bouncing between her kids' houses. Right now she's at ours because my SIL is a #####
