CPJ in favor of dropping Clemson crossover

Don't know if this was posted earlier, but this is an interesting read in the AJC. Paul Johnson discussing the Clemson crossover rivalry, and is in favor of dropping it. Seems like it worked pretty well in his early years, but I'll take 3 of the last 4 after witnessing so many bad games. Looking forward to a win in ATL next year.

I like the rivalry with GT, but I hate our guys having to play that offense every year. On every snap our linemen have to worry about having their career ended by some a-hole diving at their knees. Johnson isn't doing so great down there, hopefully they will get rid of him and bring in someone that doesn't run the triple option soon.

I think if you were to poll Georgia Tech fans, 90% would say they favor keeping the rivalry as an annual game. So would Clemson fans. To me, Georgia Tech is our biggest ACC rival. NC State and FSU are probably 2nd. I think the FSU game has become more meaningful as we've improved as a program, but over the past 30 years, Georgia Tech has been much more frequent and competetive. Atlanta is also just a 2-hour ride away, which makes it great for both fanbases in regards to travel.
Also, let me just say that nobody is comparing Clemson/Tech to Clemson/SCar or Georgia/Ga Tech. What a dumb comment-- everyone knows those rivalries are the biggest ones for us-- there's even a word it, Paul: Archrival.

the permanent cross-over oppponent in favor of having two rotating cross-over opponents.
In order to achieve that, the leage needs to realign the Divisions (they need to do that anyway) and put rivalry teams like FSU/Miami, UNC/NC State, and Virginia/Virginia Tech in the same Divisions.
I doubt CPJ would like being in the same Division with FSU and Clemson.

I've spoken w some GTech fans and they are so tired of his 6 to 8 win seasons. And their recruiting is terrible too. I want him to stay. Seems like we have finally figured it out.

I'd rather have a two team cross conference rotation. That way we'll play Coastal teams more often than every 5 to 7 years.
