New Story: Monday Morning Insider: Rose Bowl? Orange Bowl? Sugar Bowl?

Monday Morning Insider: Rose Bowl? Orange Bowl? Sugar Bowl?

Dabo Swinney summed it up perfectly during his Sunday night teleconference when talking about how this season has passed in a hurry. “The days seem longer but the years are shorter when you get older.” Amen, amen, and amen.

perfectly be fine in replacing an Orange Bowl Bid for the Peach Bowl. A Rose Bowl appearance no matter win or lose would be awesome!

Good read DH. It has been a fairly quick season to date, but satisfying overall since we still have the most important goals within our reach. Hopefully the time remaining will heal most on our injury list so we'll be healthy for the ACC-C game in Dec. I'll be there.

I wish we'd schedule some OOC games with Georgia again, or like an LSU. Or some other big name programs like Texas or Ohio State or Southern Cal. In this day and age where strength of schedule is everything, these cupcakes all the time like Furman and Citadel aren't going to get it done. Plus, they're just boring. Tell me a night game with Ohio State rolling into Death Valley wouldn't be fun

Bring on the Big Over Rated 10. Easy Wins-or Florida Schools

Nov 13, 2017, 8:27 AM

Bring on the Big Over Rated 10. Easy Wins. Or the Florida Schools like Central and South Florida for recruiting. UGA is worth scheduling too.

I have to ask because I hear the term “overrated” so much on here. Who isn’t “overrated”?

Did you miss the part where we play Texas A&M the next two years?

I would love to have UGA or Florida in the next few years. We would have Trevor Lawrence dropping bombs on either of those two way down field with an elite receiving core. But then again, neither of those two schools would accept a game against Clemson now that we have passed them both as an elite status school, they only want to play sure win schools with their OOC games!!!

Clemson has a pretty solid scheduling strategy

1 in-state cupcake
1 mid-major
1 Power 5 (road/home depending on location of SC)
SC.

You can't really argue with our SOS the last few years.

We are in the playoff right now, can't afford a loss to any of our next 3 opponents. I agree with all those that say we need to get healthy. If we do, then I like our chances against any of the teams in the discussion for the Natty.

Even with the trip to (helps to be a road game) Texas A&M, we will need to be perfect over the course of next years season. I don't expect to get the same treatment Bama gets for strength (or lack of) of schedule. We may not face many ranked opponents next year.

But, that's next year. I agree with David, let's continue to savor the great season we are having this year. I really does fly by too quickly.

Two things , Mr . Hood .
Firstly , there is always " sizzle " with chicken . Hopefully , after flour and spices have been applied to it's pimply skin ...but sizzle and chickens are part of it all and always.
Secondly : " IF " Clemson beats Miami ? I am of the opinion that this should be an expectation , we should be favored and rightly so . Think Richt has done a sweet job in a couple years in Coral Gables ...but clearly Dabo and Clemson are the ACC standard at the moment . Ain't no if in my mind vs Miami in Charlotte in December ??

There's no thinking to it. If the ACC champion goes to the CFP, the Orange Bowl takes the next highest ranked team. Oh, pushing the highest ranked team left in the ACC for the Orange Bowl includes ND. Yeah!

we could then go to another CFP bowl (non-playoff).
