Basically said you don’t die from covid you die with covid. You have to have serious underlying conditions to die from it and most people have no symptoms or minor. I knew this already but hearing it from a medical expert I respect was reassuring

Either you misunderstood or the doctor is an idiot.

I'm betting, if this story is true, that he pointed it that you don't die of mild covid, you die of the advancement of the disease into serious pneumonia and multisystem effects. But the patient still did die of COVID. Sort of like how most infectious diseases work.
