College vs pro offensive linemen. Is there a bigger

Jun 17, 2020, 5:48 PM

gap than other positions? We have sent many players of different positions to the NFL except for OL. We had the Bostic’s back in 1981, but we have won two National championships recently and we had to have had a good line in order to do so, but, our best one, Mitch Hyatt, didn’t even get drafted
. What gives?

Chuy, Cordileone, ,Kenney, Hairston,Mulligan,Richardson Thompson and a few others I remember played multiple years in the biggies. Mulligan was an extra good center for the Cards I believe.

The difference isn't any bigger. Historically, O-line is most definitely not our strongest position group.

Our guys were run blockers first and foremost.

I've heard and read from NFL scouts that there is a........

significant difference between the college and NFL offensive line schemes, etc. NFL requires quicker feet, etc. I don't personally understand all of the differences but these scouts have said there's a noticeable step up to make it on the o-line in the NFL.
