All joking aside, has any coach from USC ever left the program on a high note or moved to a better program? the closest I can think of is Scott, but going from HC to coordinator wasn't what I had in mind.
I will admit to not knowing their history very well, but I can't think of a single coach fitting the qualifications.

Since the 60's, I think their only coaches to become HC

after coaching at Usuc were Marvin Bass, from the early 60's, who I think later on coached in the Canadian Football League, then he was an assistant in the NFL. Then, Sparky Woods finally made it back to being a HC in 1-AA, at VMI I think. I believe that's it.

That is not a great resume. IN fairness, ours is not much better, but ours have enjoyed greater success while here with the ossicle exception of West and Parker.

Ours is not better? Bowden is the only coach that didn't

become a head coach someplace else since Hootie in the 70's and he went on to become AD at Florida State and Alabama. Howard Retired here and stayed. Most of us were not alive in the 30's before Howard got here.

That's true enough, and I had totally forgotten Hootie.
