Coach Streeter called his best game as Offensive Coordinator.

Oct 2, 2022, 12:03 AM

Great recognition on the run with Shipley optimizing the value of his touches, tremendous utilization of both tight ends, a should be TD to Collins on a beautiful play call that didn’t workout, and a great innovative play call for the walk-in TD for DJ’s last score,

Really impressive game plan overall. It felt like they couldn’t keep up with it throughout.

Seems like Street is building on the playbook every week. Glad we finally started going back to the TEs Briningstool and Davis are weapons

Even though they haven’t been successful they build the playbook. Have to keep them honest. We had them beat twice on 2 fake screens with pump fakes and both time it was barely over Collins head.

He is expanding it as we grow more confident in DJ to execute.

Streeter is no dummy and has taken unwarranted criticism up to this point. He's 6-0 as OC, and he's done that while DJ struggled and is slowly getting back in form. Your average OC wouldn't have been able to do what he's done with what he's been working with and building. But I'm positive he'd tell you, the offense is looking better because #5 is playing better.

100% agree. A good number of fans complemented Streeter tonight.***

Amazing how that works when the team executes.***

There was more pre-snap eye candy on offense last night than in any other game this year. It was good to see and I think it helped. Having a legitimate slot receiver and TE target is so refreshing after last year.

just can't seem

to dump the horrid wr screen plays. they just don't work. Luv seeing the TEs used. A+ for sure.

That’s the team spirit!

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No need to. A) they do gain yards more often than not, and B)

Oct 2, 2022, 2:20 PM

They are in the playback to see how the defense plays them and call plays off of it. This is really nothing more than a horizontal "running" game. I didn't mean to sound negative about it, but they’re not going anywhere.

Not all plays appear to work…

Oct 2, 2022, 7:42 AM [ in reply to just can't seem ]

But they are still important because they create, or give the illusion of, tendencies, which you can exploit later.

"I've played multiple sports and would bet any amount that I'm still more athletic than you at this present time...."

Agree. Very good. Especially in the second half.

Oct 2, 2022, 12:07 AM

They were close to making a couple plays that would have blown the game wide open.

Definitely improved play calling. The 3 runs inside the 10 on one of the first drives was not pretty, but figured out what would work and called a good game

Yes he did, and so did the secondary.

They look like a team that truly became one last week, and now they believe and are building on it.

Yeah. Props to him but I thought DJ was the star. He made some good reads. They're growing up I think. Still improvement from Streeter is needed.

Thought we got a little too conservative late when we could have put the game away but I can't explain how ecstatic I am that we've gotten away from trying to throw screens every other play. A lot of crossing routes tonight. That's something we've been missing these past few years and it just opens the offense up so much more. Definitely think Streeter is a step in the right direction from a playcalling standpoint.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well yeah, but #5 deserves some credit for making the offense look

Oct 2, 2022, 12:25 AM

much better each week. He's coming around, and he's key player on the field. As he goes the offense goes. The sharper he plays and more confident he gets, the better the offense looks.

Some of our contributors have connected DJ’s success to the prior coaching of Streeter, so assuming that’s true, we’re going to have a lot of fun between now and your next handle.

And why so gosh darn defensive? I'm lost on your feelings hereBubba, but I can assure you they're not on point. I don't think you understood what I'm saying, and the attacking thing is downright strange.
